Majestic gold gives me the same vibe as Armani Code Absolu and Jacques Bogart Bogart pour homme, but it's not a clone of any of those. It also have a good projection and sillage (good scent bubble around you) for 2 hour not beastly... and it will last and last.. at least 7-8 hour..

This is a delicious blind buy. British contributors will know of a deliciously rich, caramel flavoured chocolate bar called Caramac. Majestic Gold's patchouli base very much resembles Caramac's distinctive smell and in the beginning it is accompanied by floral notes that lie somewhere between Invictus and One Million. These go within ten minutes and occasional wafts of oud and sweet leather complement the caramel. Deeper into the dry down the gourmand element all but goes and you're left with a bed of a more straightforward patchouli.

It's also reminiscent of 1 Million, just a touch with the opening sweetness, but it's not as cloying or in your face as the Paco Rabanne monster that everyone and his grandad oversprays, it's far more intimate, more sophisticated yet more opulent. Beautiful scent, honestly I haven't smelled any leather thus far but it is a beautiful and must have. I will let it sit. Very gourmand fragrance though, very. If something edible smelt like this I'd definitely eat it. I get Tonka, chocolate, vanilla, honeycomb, a bit of spiciness like cinnamon/cumin/saffron. It's got a real cake shop vibe to it. It's lovely.

There are literally no other notes in this frag that exist past the 3-minute mark. I get maybe a little lavender-smelling something in the first 3 minutes of the fragrance...after that it's cinnamon-leather until I take a shower to get this mess off me. I just can't get any performance out of this fragrance. Even soaking myself with 20 sprays only yields a skin-scent of leather...leaving me smelling like some kinda leather-wearing old biker dude or a BDSM gimp that just finished a suit-session. It's more masculine and more versatile. For me it's quite gourmand as it goes to the drydown, more like a Tonka-vanilla combination with animalic notes (which most of it is ambroxan, some musk, i get some leathery notes) and a woody base. Gotta try this with "Gold Rush Man" as a creamy vanilla-lavender base layer. With the leathery notes this one brings...they should go GREAT together! I haven't smell SWY leather.. oud in here is smooth not overpower... It syntethic and screechy? Yes, but only in the first 10-15 minutes... after that, it just done beautifully... If what he means by that phrase is he wanted to make a less aggressive oud which would be more wearable by people who are not enamored of strong notes, I think he succeeded. The top of Midnight Oud begins with a pairing of bergamot and saffron. This is as strong a saffron note as I’ve come across recently and it is an excellent choice to start off an oud based fragrance. The saffron imparts a slightly dried grass and leather aspect to the beginning which adds a little bit of exoticism to the beginning. The heart begins with the appearance of the oud. The oud is very restrained here, of all of the oud scents out there it is most closely akin to the level of oud in M7.
