About this deal

That’s not to say the G3223Q sacrifices PC gaming. It has a DisplayPort port, of course, making high-refresh gameplay easy to access no matter the device you own. The monitor is also VESA DisplayHDR 600 certified— though, as I’ll explain, HDR remains a sore spot. Dell G3223Q: Design Larger 1440p monitors aren’t crisp like their smaller siblings, but the higher pixel count is still there to compensate for it. Games will still look better and more detailed, so you don’t have to worry about that. The screen is easy on the eyes for reading and browsing as well, so the monitor should work great if you need to finish work or school-related tasks. The best gaming monitors have some stunning options among them, and new technologies are shaking up the field, like the QD- OLED panel on display in Alienware’s recent AW3423DW. Unfortunately, Dell's G3223Q lags behind many of these trends, and it makes it's price tough to justify. Caution: Dell G3223D setup must comply with the recommended panel orientation and working angle only. Setting up the monitor in an orientation that is not recommended may damage the monitor and/or cause a safety hazard. All other products will be delivered via the fastest available method (excluding bank holidays and weekends) and generally within 3-5 days, depending on customer location.

Vision Engine including Night vision, Clear vision, Bino vision, Chroma vision, or Crosshair that can enhance visual elements in different gaming scenes. The Dell G3223D is a premium gaming monitor with a large 1440p IPS panel and USB-C connectivity for flexibility. It’s a formula we wish monitor brands would follow so gamers can justify upgrading since the product can be used for business or professional applications. It’s pricier than its VA counterparts, but let’s see if that extra cost merits better performance in all aspects. Dell G3223D Specifications CompleteCover: Service is available for personal computers, Axim PDAs, Dell branded projectors and LCD TV. This service is only available in selected countries. Then there’s its chops for gaming. 4K, or Ultra HD to be more specific, allows for a lot of detail to shine through, and the 32-inch panel does a great job filling up our field of view at an arm’s length away. The 144Hz refresh keeps it all flowing smoothly too, whether over DisplayPort 1.4 or the two HDMI 2.1 ports that can also serve up 4K/120Hz from consoles.

Dell G3223D review: 165Hz 1440p Gaming Monitor with USB-C!

My testing reported a default gamma of 2.4, which is off the preference of 2.2. This means content will often appear darker than intended. This can add to the sense of contrast but may also obscure details in dark areas of an image. Gamma can be adjusted, although, as noted, only in Creator Mode. The color temperature came in at 6200K, which is a bit warm and reddish but hard to notice outside of a direct comparison with another monitor. Dell’s G3223Q is a conflicted monitor. It has good SDR image quality, superb motion clarity, and works very well with the latest game consoles thanks to HDMI 2.1 support and a refresh rate up to 144Hz. The monitor’s HDR is disappointing, however. It also misses the mark for creators due to some decisions in the monitor’s menu system. The contrast ratio test reported a maximum ratio of 1150:1. This ratio is not spectacular, but it’s much better than many of Dell’s direct competitors. The G3223Q looks richer and provides a better sense of depth than many of its peers. Estimated valueis Dell’s estimate of product value based on industry data, including the prices at which third-party retailers have offered or valued the same or comparable products, in its most recent survey of major online and/or off-line retailers. Third-party retailer data may not be based on actual sales.Where you put your monitor is almost as important as what model you buy. The monitor should be directly in front of you, at an arm’s length away (between 20-40 inches from your eyes). The top edge of the screen at eye level when you are sitting comfortably. You may need to adjust your chair height or the height of the monitor to achieve this. Without Stand: 1. Height: 16.82 in. (427.21 mm) | 2. Width: 28.08 in. (713.15 mm) | 3. Depth: 2.70 in. (68.61 mm) Note: The Dell G3223D monitor is heavy; handle with extreme care. It is recommended to have two people to lift or move this monitor. Although the 1.4a spec is still more than enough for most people, the inclusion of DisplayPort 2.1 does give AMD an advantage this generation. No, I'm not here to sell you on 8K gaming -- in some parts of the world, 8K may not even be possible -- but for a crowd of competitive gamers and VR enthusiasts, DisplayPort 2.1 could mark a major shift. With Stand: 1. Height: 456.00 mm (17.96") - 556.00 mm (21.89") | 2. Width: 713.15 mm (28.08") | 3. Depth: 246.94 mm (9.72")

The monitor supports AMD FreeSync Premium Pro technology to aid against tearing, as well as a console mode, which provides a 120Hz VRR. The G3223Q model is also precalibrated out-of-the-factory at ΔE ≤ 2. DisplayPort 2.1 became a much bigger talking point than expected when AMD revealed its upcoming RX 7900 XTX and RX 7900 XT GPUs. It's the latest standard from DisplayPort, a revision to the 2.0 spec released in 2019, and it's a natural inclusion for next-gen GPUs. There's just one problem -- Nvidia's behemoth RTX 4090 still uses DisplayPort 1.4a. Dim or discolored video can be caused by the video cable, so try reseating the cable and swapping with a known good part.
