About this deal

We shall continue with our endeavours of peace and stability and there will be no room for spoilers of the process,” the COAS was quoted as saying. And the king spoke unto Ashpenaz his chief officer, that he should bring in certain of the children of Israel, and of the seed royal, and of the nobles, He accepts – but is aware of the limits of his role from the get-go: “Most chiefs of staff enter 10 Downing Street at a moment of triumph for their boss, who has either just won a general election or the leadership of the governing party. I was entering at a moment of crisis.” His role was, in his own words, to keep May in 10 Downing Street. While he succeeds in helping to secure May’s position in the days that follow, Barwell constantly battles the sense that both he and May are on borrowed time. I always feel privileged when I receive an ARC copy. However like any reader there are authors I really look forward to reading. Kris Michaels is one of those authors. I always have high expectations from her book and so far she has never let me down. Once again she delivered.

This book is about everything we humans share – that this is the planet we live on, this the universe, these our fellow travellers, and death our destination. That much of our past is underneath us and we find our remotest ancestors by descending. That humanity is brief and yet, here in the Anthropocene, dangerously consequential. This nonfiction book worked on me like poetry, taking me somewhere beyond (or below) words – stretching me outwards and inwards, downwards and upwards, and into the future as far as it’s possible for mere humans to imagine. Profoundly philosophical, but vividly imagistic. One image that has lingered is of an infant buried centuries ago in the cradle of a swan’s wing. Javier Cercas: The Tartar Steppe by Dino BuzzatiAnd the king saith, to Ashpenaz master of his eunuchs, to bring in out of the sons of Israel, (even of the royal seed, and of the chiefs,) I received an ARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I have not connection to Kris Michaels. Blessed with his Alpha team family, Chief will risk it all, and do what it takes to ensure the entire King family and his 'brothers' are safe from the threats of the Bravata. A year in the making and it's mission 'go'. Too bad, Chief didn't know it was his heart that would be the casualty of this war.

And the king spake unto Ashpenaz the master of his eunuchs, that he should bring in certain of the children of Israel, even of the seed royal and of the nobles; Gavin Barwell has written a candid, valuable and insightful account of two hugely consequential years of history. Read it if you want to fully understand why we are where we are today. This may be a chronicle of failure, but it is all the more absorbing for that.Cloaked in the identity of David Xavier, a billionaire player in multiple world theaters, Mike White Cloud worked to enter the Russian Mafia’s lair, by stalking a shadowy creature named "The Concierge." The Russian woman brokered young innocents into slavery, and Mike meant to destroy her and the organization she worked for. He should have despised her for the atrocious crimes she facilitated, but too often love and hate are the flip sides of the same coin, and what Mike felt for Taty was not hate. It didn't matter. He'd destroy the Bravata and all its associates--even if it meant part of his soul sat in prison for the rest of her life.
