About this deal

From her new home in Sector 45, Juliette was monitored for signs of supernatural abilities. The Reestablishment's goal was to study the people they called Unnaturals, weed out the less useful ones, and use the powerful ones as weapons to gain political power. Warner's father, Paris Anderson, was part of this plan, and had intended for Warner to find Juliette and release her from the asylum so she could become useful to their cause. Now there were some times of miscommunication that could be avoided, but i guess it was in line with their character and the things they went through and it added to the tension so i guess i didn't mind it that much. Overall i loved it and i will definetely read the rest of this series and more from this author. My mother is dead, I think, as I drag the electric blade across my skull. My father is dead, I think, as the hair falls to the floor. Everything I was, everything I did, everything I am, was forged from the twins of their action and inaction. I’m just done with this. He says he’s been in love with her and he has some respectful behavior towards her but a ton of stupid. Kenji tells Juliette that his parents were killed when he was seven years old. Castle found him living on the street a year later.

i don't have enough characters left in this review to make a list of all the things i loved. there were imperfect parts, and i was wary that i would have to pretend this never happened, but i can only repeat: OH MY GOD I did not think it would be easy to be a leader, exactly, but I do think I thought it would be easier than this: Every time I touch you is a gift, Sloane. One I don’t know if I’m going to get to keep, which means I want to rush this more than anything. I want to dive headfirst into your eyes and never come up for air. I want to use every part of my body to bring pleasure to yours,”Despite Castle’s warnings, Juliette and Adam begin to get intimate. Adam collapses in pain and is hospitalized for days. When he comes out Juliette breaks up with him. They are both devastated. Juliette screams, and all 554 Sector leaders plus guests drop dead in a mass of blood. Juliette is lying on the ground in a net of electric wires. Her powers don’t work. At the Symposium, Juliette starts denouncing The Reestablishment. People get angry and start shooting at her. She deflects the bullets. Then she screams, and everyone in the room drops dead. I really wanted to love them but i simply couldn't. there was so much and so little going on at the same time to the point it became a constant migraine to continue reading. i can't bring myself to give this one star bc ily hoda, so one star for you, one star for dom, and one honorary star for mentioning greys, merder forever 🤞🏼Dangerous, sexy, romantic, and intense. I dare you to stop reading." - Kami Garcia, #1 New York Times bestselling co-author of the Beautiful Creatures series

Hi Momma Bear. I can understand your anxiety on this. I’m not sure how old your daughter is. Also it is a little while since i read the books but I’ve had a look through to remind myself. This book exists in this sort of dichotomous space between two stories. In one story, we have a book about grief and learning to love again after loss, allowing yourself to be happy and dealing with feelings of guilt and shame that can come with that experience. THAT book, I want to read. It's thoughtful and the male lead is emotionally intelligent, cognizant of the struggles the female lead is going through, and very supportive and understanding of what she's going through. i reread this spontaneously in preparation for shadow me and that shit HURTED. im thirty times more confused than i was about this book's ending. but the things i enjoyed most about this reread was seeing warner's self-awareness develop and the distinction between different kinds of power and resilience, specifically how juliette has to compartmentalize and separately hone her physical strength and mental strength. loved it as always even though i'm so confused and stressed i could cry Warner speaks to Juliette outside the room and apologizes. He tells her he made a mistake not telling her. He doesn’t really know about relationships. He kisses her, and then she runs from him. Castle catches Warner and tells him Haider is here. He doesn’t go into the room as he doesn’t want to undermine Juliette. Castle tells Warner there is a secret about Juliette and her parentage.

This book also features some of my favorite chapters/scenes from the Shatter Me series so far. The scenes I speak of all are scenes that include Warner/Juliette and Warner/Kenji. Addictive, intense, and oozing with romance. I'm envious. I couldn't put it down." – Lauren Kate, #1 New York Times bestselling author of the Fallen series I loved the relationship that got developed in this book. I loved how they were talking about the grief, because both of them felt the loss. The hero, was rarely jealous of his best friend, he was understanding of the heroin's love for him and i felt like he admired her for it. He helped her deal with her grief and her guilt in a mature way. At the same time he was jealous and possessive with other men flirting with her which was something that satisfied my toxic heart so much. I loved their banter, their tension and their chemistry. I didn’t let him cut my hair,” he says, scowling. “It was”—he hesitates—“it was a gesture of camaraderie. It was an act of trust I’d seen practiced among my soldiers. In any case,” he says, turning away, “it’s not as though I have any experience building friendships.”

sloane lost her husband four years ago and hasn’t dated seriously since. when she’s forced to work on a project with her late husband’s best friend, she’s dreading it since he’s always hated her. but the more time they spend together, the more that hatred gets a little blurred.I reread this to annotate it before Defy Me came out and still loved it. It was difficult to annotate because there's a new POV and new characters who i love a lot, so i definitely had a field day putting hearts in the margins. Also I love juliette ferrars so much. SO MUCH. Dom, this man!! The most unselfish man ever, loving so deeply from a far and keeping his feelings hidden all those years. My heart well and truly broke for him. Sexy and intense though! Sloane’s husband died 4 years ago but she didn’t really seem to miss him or think about him all that much. I know she's likely moved on by now but I was just expecting her to be more emotional about it, otherwise why include this as a main plot point?
