This is easily the most comprehensive air fryer cookbook on the market; it has a recipe for nearly everything you could think of. Not only does this volume contains lots of clever and unique dish ideas, but it also includes air fryer versions of recipes you probably already know and love. I've been using my air-fryer for just over two years now and have wished I could find recipes that would justify not only the cost of it but also the counter-space it consumes. I have earmarked quite a few recipes to test out in my own air-fryer on family and friends this holiday season. The Head notes and What to Serve With the recipe are so useful. I wish more recipe books came with things like that. There are plenty of healthy things in here, but then they're cooked badly or with no seasoning at all. The air fried tofu cubes recipe calls for tofu and spray oil. Ew. Tofu is like a slimy sponge. It needs to be marinaded with a wonderful flavor and then it will taste like that flavor, and then cooked properly (freezing ahead of time also greatly improves the texture). My kids love it marinaded and then breaded and fried, among other ways. But plain with no seasoning at all? It's horrid. Or the fried eggplant slices. First off, you should salt and sweat eggplant to get rid of its overly moist texture for best results in recipes, which this doesn't do. Then it calls for breading it in crushed Saltines and corn starch, with no spices or seasonings at all. So you're breading it in really unhealthy, fattening stuff, AND giving it no flavor? Yum. Also note that you have to cook them one at a time (two if they're tiny slices) for 12 minutes each, so you're also going to be spending an hour air frying your little eggplant slice by slice, when you could just bake the slices for wonderfully crispy eggplant slices much easier all at once (I recommend almond meal, garlic, S&P and herbs for breading, with some Parmesan in the mix if you do dairy). As air fryers are designed with additional functions, such as baking and roasting, cookbooks are written to include recipes using those functions. If your air fryer only air fries, make sure to choose a book with recipes that focus on that. If you're looking for fun, trashy recipes to use in your air fryer, this will definitely make you super happy. There are literally hundreds of them, even though a lot of them are basically to take things like cut up pita bread of frozen carrot slices, spray them with oil, and air fry them in single layers. There are also lots of ways to air fry meats of various kinds, but I cook vegetarian so I didn't look closely at those. Readers who tend towards healthy, gluten free, vegetarian and/or homemade foods may be disappointed.
