About this deal

I have to admit that the reason it’s getting a review now is because I want to have a rant about one aspect of the tool which is absolute rubbish. What you say is all great, but i have been in both seats, had the Bosch machine and it was slow noisy and has limitations, and vibrated apart more than once whilst i was doing some heavy sanding on windows. It seems to like cutting in on a diagonal and not being pressed on too hard, but it gets through nice and cleanly.

When it comes to cutting it can’t be beaten, I love the 25mm flat cutter as it’s perfect for producing a thin kerf cut in floorboards so that they can be lifted cleanly. So this tool is of great help to all those who are engaged in the housing construction industry or amateurs who love it. Looking on the web I found a common fault was the crimped connection from the coil windings to the motor board.

The tool stopped working within a couple of minutes, so I switched the mains suppy off and left it for a few minutes. Since opening it up, the motor also seems to get stuck a bit, making that noise when you stall a drill.

Prior to fitting the brushes make sure that the commutator on the armature is smooth and that there are no bars missing.Despite the objective performance capabilities of the Bosch PMF 180 E grinder, further information on additional features or specific applications is not available. My guess is that the paper stalls on the work but the head keeps vibrating which tears the fuzz off the back of the paper. My wife got me one of these for Xmas 2011, in April 2012 the switch broke and Bosch collected it for repair. Nevertheless, based on the provided specifications, it can be inferred that this grinder delivers sufficient power and performance for a variety of cutting, grinding, and sanding tasks.

Having fixed many electrical appliances over the years I felt sure the fault was minor as the tool had not overheated and there was no smell suggesting an internal fault. The Bosch PMF 180 E grinder is a power tool designed to perform various tasks in a precise and efficient manner. I cannot understand why they have stopped working as I follow the instructions, I have not burnt the motors out. I was going to cut some square steel tube with it as well but realised it would be a bit to slow so switched back to the angle grinder instead. For DIY use this is a great piece of kit and when you get one you will wonder how you ever lived without it.
