Music By The Lake brings the UK’s best tribute acts to Dorchester, with all proceeds going to Weldmar Hospicecare. Kids go free, it’s free to park, there’s great food and drink on offer, or you can bring a picnic! Lineup for 2023 You wouldn't expect such a humble beginning for Hollywood royalty, but the Belfry Theater helped pave the way for their success.The building still exists today,on the west side of 67, across from Mercy Hospital. It has been restored into a beautiful music venue. The parking garage has 2 entrances, one on the north side if you’re coming from I-30, and one on the south side if you’re coming off of Summer Lee Drive. According to Jim McClure, village historian and Harrison Ford fanatic,"Ford, who was born in Chicago, attended Ripon College in Central Wisconsin and just a few months before graduating in 1964, dropped out of school because he was offered his first paid acting job with the Belfry Players." McClure continues, "After six plays, and as the last Resident Actorat The Belfry, he headed to Los Angeles in hopes of making a career in motion pictures." The food vendors at Concert by the Lake offer various tasty options, from barbecue to ice cream. There’s something for everyone! And if you get hungry while dancing, don’t worry – plenty of places to grab a bite. Our chilled out Sunday afternoon show starts with the music of the world's biggest star right now - Adele. Her four albums have combined sales of more than sixty million copies worldwide, including anthems such as Hello, Rolling In The Deep, Set Fire To The Rain, Skyfall, and Someone Like You. Then, our top tribute to the Sex Bomb himself, Tom Jones, will entertain with songs that span fifty years, from classics such as Delilah, She's A Lady, and Green Green Grass through to Kiss, You Can Leave Your Hat On, and Mama Told Me Not To Come.We're absolutely delighted to welcome Basilico, serving delicious, authentic, sourdough pizza. Booze Box is providing a full bar throughout the weekend, and there'll be coffees, teas, and sweet treats on offer from The Saddle Stop. When my friends and I arrived at The Harbor Amphitheater around 6:30 pm, the venue filled up with people of all ages enjoying picnics on the lawn. We grabbed a spot near the front and set up our little picnic while we waited for the show to start. Very sadly, our Adele tribute has had to withdraw from the show due to illness. We're sorry for any disappointment this may cause, but hope you understand that these things can happen, and obviously we wish Jax a speedy recovery.

In addition to well-known acts, this concert series provides a platform for up-and-coming artists from across the state. This allows attendees to discover fresh talent before they hit it big in the music industry. Music by the Lake is held outdoors and therefore we suggest that you wear something warm for when the sun goes down. If it is raining, bring a rain coat with you and embrace the Great British weather. If you want to don fancy dress, we encourage it. We suggest bringing a hand held torch for when it gets dark. We are delighted to announce that we are bringing some Elton John magic to Dorchester Showground instead! Ed Hintze is bringing his very popular Elton John show out of retirement, and will be opening the show for us at 1pm - and may even include an Adele hit or two into the set! We thank Ed for stepping in at the last minute, and we're sure you will enjoy the show, which also features the wonderful Dean Jones as Tom Jones.
