About this deal

This took me a while to get into and to get a handle on the characters and the POVs. The two narrators do a good job, although the different POVs would have been more distinctive if each character had it's own narrator. I did find it rather confusing that only two narrators were used, but each chapter had a different POV!

Sadly, none of the women are all that likable and neither is the storyline. Every character is withholding here, a secret, a lie, something, and when all rise to the surface, it isn’t pretty. Lucy Clarke is a bestselling and award-winning author of mystery fiction novels from the south coast of England. I found some of the characters dull, yes I’m talking about Robyn! I couldn’t relate with her. I even thought skipping her parts but it would cause problem for me to understand entire premise fully so I patiently read her POV! So, what makes this story so compelling? The people. I loved them all, to varying degrees! Jeezum crow! Did these women have secrets!😍All the women said that Ed’s death was just an accident. Ana and Lexi stayed friends. Eleanor was slowly healing. Fen and Robyn got married. The Review: There really isn't much of a mystery at all. We begin knowing that someone will die and they are possibly wearing red. That is known from the very beginning. Lucy Clarke goes from strength to strength; this utterly addictive, trouble-in-paradise novel is her best yet. The plot shifts like sand beneath the reader’s feet.”— Erin Kelly, bestselling author of Watch Her Fall Thanks to Penguin Group Putnam, Lucy Clarke and NetGalley for the ARC. I am voluntarily leaving my honest review* But that’s not the whole story. Lexi has a secret about her relationship with Ed. Fen has a secret about the villa. Bella had a secret that came out at the airport, and now she’s not sure if her relationship with Fen will last the weekend. Ed has a secret that Eleanor knows about, but she doesn’t know that it will come out that weekend. Robyn has been living a life with the volume turned all the way down and needs this weekend to find herself again. But it’s Ana who has the secret that could bring everything to a grinding halt.

The setting in Greece was perfect! I appreciated the descriptions of the location and of the food.😍 🇬🇷 A twisty psychological thriller from internationally bestselling author Lucy Clarke, One of the Girls is the delicious story of a bachelorette trip on a stunning Greek island… that ends in murder. Now it's too late. It's over. We can never unsee the trail of her red wrap as it fluttered in the morning breeze, caught in the zip of a body bag. While this was intended to be a suspenseful, twisty read, the despicability of the characters and Bella in particular, made this less so, at least for me. I am, however, only one reader and in this instance, was the wrong reader for this novel.
