About this deal

Later on, Sakuragi realizes that he has come to actually love the sport, despite having previously played primarily because of his crush on Haruko. Kaede Rukawa—Sakuragi's bitter rival (both in basketball and because Haruko has a massive crush, albeit one-sided, on Rukawa), the star rookie and a "girl magnet"—joins the team at the same time. Not long after, Hisashi Mitsui, a skilled three-point shooter and ex–junior high school MVP, and Ryota Miyagi, a short but fast point guard, both rejoin the team and together these four struggle to fulfill team captain Takenori Akagi's dream of winning the national championship. Collectively, these misfits gain publicity and the once little-known Shohoku basketball team becomes an all-star contender in Japan, which gains popularity after defeating one of the powerhouse high school teams at the interhigh championships.

OK who cares?... This is a top notch! I've never enjoyed this series as much as other mangas I've came across. It always brings laughter to me whenever I'm down. Not to mention, this is shonen genre which is targeted to boys and I'm a girl! OK, maybe One Piece came a close second. Loo, Egan (May 1, 2009). "Joost Streams All 101 Episodes of Slam Dunk". Anime News Network. Archived from the original on May 19, 2009 . Retrieved May 12, 2009. Anyway, he was madly head over heels when he met Akagi Haruko. Haruko was so taken by Sakuragi's physique and thought that he could be the saviour for the School's Basketball team (her older brother, is the captain). Written and illustrated by Takehiko Inoue, Slam Dunk was serialized in Shueisha's shōnen manga magazine Weekly Shōnen Jump from October 1, 1990, to June 17, 1996. [10] [11] [12] The 276 individual chapters were originally collected in 31 tankōbon volumes under Shueisha's Jump Comics imprint, with the first being published on February 8, 1991, and the final volume on October 3, 1996. [13] [14] It was later reassembled into 24 kanzenban volumes under the Jump Comics Deluxe imprint from March 19, 2001, to February 2, 2002. [15] [16] A 20 volume shinsōban edition was published between June 1 and September 1, 2018. [17]Slam Dunk 2: IH Yosen Kanzenban!!". GameSpot. Archived from the original on September 13, 2017 . Uozumi commits four fouls, and while discussing it with the official he is ejected. As Maki overpowers Sendoh's defence, Kainan surpasses Ryonan. Before the match ends, Sendoh scores, extending the game. However, Kainan ultimately defeats Ryonan, allowing them to enter the nationals. Meanwhile, Akagi receives a phone call informing him that Anzai is in the hospital, having fallen unconscious while Sakuragi was practising. As they are told Anzai is not in any great danger, Shohoku prepares for their match against Ryonan to decide if they can go to nationals. The match between Shohoku and Ryonan starts, and Sakuragi and Akagi return as starters. Despite making his typical mistakes, Sakuragi manages to help Shohoku take the lead with his practised shots. His illustrations have always been a highlight for me and I was always amazed of how he captured movements, the offensive and defensive stances to how the players penetrate the perimeter and score. The detail of Inoue’s artwork is just wonderful and I look forward to volume 3!
