Beginning with Gilbert White’s Natural History and Antiquities of Selborne, first published in 1789, the ornithological record continues with three avifaunas and, since 1958, increasingly comprehensive annual bird reports. The unclipped dust wrapper is in fine condition, it has now been covered in clear, removable, protective film. Because of the lighting I couldn't be sure of the colour but it definitely had a broad, forked tail. Naturalized: Exotic population is self-sustaining, breeding in the wild, persisting for many years, and not maintained through ongoing releases (including vagrants from Naturalized populations).These count in official eBird totals and, where applicable, have been accepted by regional bird records committee(s). It is a popular route for horseback riding, running and mountain biking, though cyclists should keep an eye out for horses and ramblers.

An unrivalled collection of photos is included, complemented by a unique series of paintings and sketches of Hampshire rarities as seen through artist Dan Powell’s eyes. The cover may have some limited signs of wear but the pages are clean, intact and the spine remains undamaged.Could it have been a kite in this location and, if so, is it likely to just have been an escapee from the nearby Hawk Conservancy or are they known to be breeding in the area? House Martins and Swallows also working same field, and a Grey Wagtail back and forth under the bridge. These factors combine to ensure that the diversity of birds breeding, wintering and migrating through the county is high. Here is a picture I took of one at Henley on Thames (not brilliant i know) for you to compare your sighting with. Almost half a century later these have not yet been accepted into the Dorset avifauna and therefore risked being lost down the recording cracks.
