About this deal

In a large bowl, whisk together the flours, wheatgerm, salt, bicarbonate of soda (baking soda) and cinnamon. Set aside.

sourd'oh's suggestion of particularly crunchy gingersnaps might work too, but you'll also want to make sure they're not too spicy! Build your s’more sandwiches by topping a digestive biscuit with a couple of squares of chocolate and 1-2 marshmallows. Finish with a second digestive biscuit on the top. Thanks so much, Ro. I saw the digestives on your blog - they came out great. You should still try this recipe though because they are different to digestives. It's just so hard to explain why. Try for yourself and you'll know. ;) Preheat the oven to 175°C (350°F), Gas mark 4, and line three large baking sheets with parchment or silicone liners. Set aside. By the way I love the recipe extremely tastey and easy to make, don't want to sound like an arse just confused about the nunbersThe man behind them was one Reverend Sylvester Graham, a Presbyterian minister who became obsessed with healthy living, and the idea that sexual desire was sinful and could even cause physical ailments. a b Iacobbo, Karen; Iacobbo, Michael (2004). Vegetarian America: a history. Westport, Conn.: Praeger. ISBN 978-0-275-97519-7. Take another bowl and add butter, milk, honey, and vanilla extract to it. Whisk the contents until they are fully combined.

What a super idea to make them yourself! I also never tasted the real thing, as you can also not buy them in continental Europe ;) I always substitute with some sort of cookie. But I will definitely try your recipe, now I am curious ;) I think for many Americans, there’s a novelty to Brit foods, though I certainly think it’s worth a trip to the UK for Brit pastries and real chips. Not to mention the pub grub (I well remember the “man-size” Yorkshire puddings at the pub in Skidby we used to visit when I was a student at Hull Uni), or getting chip butties and beans on toast in a naff caff. Overall making S’mores was great and messy fun. It is really suited to camping and something the whole family can have a go at. Just be careful around the fire. If you want a traditional S’more

Carefully roast it over your fire until it reaches your desired level of melted/roasted/scorched. Don’t put it directly in the flame. Everyone will hold strong opinions on what is the perfect level of marshmallow roastiness. I actually prefer mine warm and melty but with zero burnt bits. However you make them, s’mores are bound to be a big hit. Let me know how you get on in the comments! I’m Lisa. A mobility disabled, sugar-fueled baker and lover of all things sweet! I love to create dessert recipes. Desserts make me happy, 'rainbows and unicorns' kind of happy!
