About this deal

Avoid self-medicating – even if you feel that’s the right thing to do, it’s probably not a wise idea in the long run However, you have to understand that if you don’t remove the triggers for anxiety from your life, your symptoms may get worse. Our community is open to all individuals interested in teaching and learning, focusing on providing support and resources for Australian teachers. We welcome the valuable contributions of pre-service teachers, school support staff communities, aspiring teachers, and anyone interested in the profession.

If I have to make a decision about something, I slow down and try to be very intentional about it. I’ve also learned I need to talk it out with somebody else, something I’ve never been inclined to do. Asking for help is a good thing. 7. Anxiety helps me speed up. This doesn’t mean you need to spend hours socializing however – even half an hour or an hour is enough to feel good.

How nice it would be to always see fear as a solicitous friend—a natural survival mechanism that warns us to keep the door shut when the wolf is waiting outside, or priming us to fight, flee, or freeze when the wolf has found his way in. Everyone’s different, and I can’t just tell you what to do and BOOM it’s gonna work – but I have a very complex mind, almost like I’m fighting against myself a lot of the time and what I’m sharing with you manages to work so…

Some people who struggle with anxiety may struggle to give their partners the love and support they need. Oddly enough, possibly breaking my finger didn’t worry me. What did worry me was one day when a kid was running for a touchdown, and another kid dove to stop him. He only caught the top of his pants, pulling them down and exposing his bare butt. He made the touchdown anyway, but while everyone else thought it was hilarious, it scared me to death. Natasha Daniels has been an anxiety & OCD therapist for over two decades. She has become the go-to global expert for parents raising kids with anxiety and OCD. She combines both her clinical expertise with her lived experience of raising her own three kids with anxiety and OCD.Called off work today because I woke up feeling really anxious about the day. For context, I'm a CRT and this is my first year of teaching. Prior to this term I was teaching in a special needs setting but left after 3 terms because there were factors in that environment that would trigger my anxiety. Having spent 8 years on 30mg prozac daily for a traumatic (to me) series of events that happened at work in 2015 I decided to come off it begining of the year. It was that sort of sleep in which you wake every hour and think to yourself that you have not been sleeping at all; you can remember dreams that are like reflections, daytime thinking slightly warped.” My point to this is that I make an effort to try not to do this OFTEN. AKA, I save my "rage your face off" moments for very special occasions and it's absolutely not a weekly occurrence. If I do decided to over indulge on the spicy margs, I make sure I am super kind to myself the next day and also practice a lot of self care to cope (baths, walks, naps, etc).
