About this deal

Take a small section from the front and hold it out away from your head. Use 2 fingers like a curling iron barrel and twist the section away from your face and around your fingers to create an open, vertical loop of hair. Aphids can be removed from orchids using a strong spray of water, insecticides, horticultural oils such as neem oil, or ladybugs, the natural predator of aphids. Rope braids are incredibly easy to do. They’re even easier than a 3-strand braid! Once you get the hang of the twisting motion, you can do these with your eyes closed. It’s that simple. Here’s how you can create heatless rope braid curls and waves: Start with slightly damp hair that has been thoroughly brushed. Work in the curl-enhancing product of your choice to achieve the best, frizz-free pin curls. Flip your hair over: Now flip your hair over your head, so that the ends are resting in the middle of the t-shirt. Slowly lower your head down until all of your hair is collected in the t-shirt.

Short hair: Curling can get fiddly and you don’t want to end up with burnt fingers. Use a curling tong to clamp the ends of short hair for easier styling. Besides initiating a regular watering schedule for your orchids, you can also use Epsom salt to rehydrate your orchid roots. Basically, you can dissolve 1 Tablespoon of Epsom salt in 1 gallon of water. Use this Epsom salt solution to soak your dried orchid roots for up to three hours. Do this only as needed, and no more than a handful times throughout the year. This is similar to the tnc I stumbled across when I was transitioning. I needed something to make the relaxed hair blend with the natural hair… so I would 2-strand twist and then take a fabric roller (they’re like sponge rollers wrapped in fabric with wire in them so you can tie it closed after you roll it) and roll my hair after the twist (I leave the last 2 inches or so untwisted and smooth with a rat-tail comb and conditioner and moisturizer). Then I sleep on it. Leave your hair in this setup until the morning. Remove the scrunchies and slowly unwrap your hair to reveal your no-heat curls! One option is to move your orchid to a new location with better lighting. However, I would not recommend that you turn the orchid pot or start rotating it to get more light on the leaves. Once you set your orchid in a spot, do your best to just leave it there. Start with damp or dry hair: The drier your hair, the better. If your hair is too wet when you put your braids in, it won't dry properly overnight and therefore your style won't hold. Repeat: Repeat the same process on the other section of hair, making sure all your hair is wrapped up, and you're done! Expect a loose, bouncy curl in the morning. Opting for gentler, no-heat styles more often is becoming the norm for most women. I think a lot of us are realizing that it’s just time to make healthier choices for our hair now that we know better. Work down the rest of the side, adding elastics and securing all the hair into bubbles. Leave an inch or so out at the ends. Repeat for the other side.

These twists look so stunning, that you would never guess it’s a crochet wig. The ultimate protective style, this completely covers your hair and protects your ends while giving you the feeling and look of your natural curls and coils. 7. Two Strand Twists & Gold Cuffs Fusarium wilt is a fungal infection that is passed onto orchids through infected pruning tools. Improper cleaning of these gardening tools allows the fungus to stay on the gardening shears and infect other plants. This is why it is so important to sterilize your pruning tools before you repot or prune your orchids. These glossy twists pair amazingly with the ever-popular space bun style. This might be a good solution for naturals who are experiencing the “awkward” hair length phase and feel that their twists are just a little too short for comfort. Don’t forget to add the face-framing twists. 12. Twisted Updo Unclip the first section and lay a strip of fabric horizontally across it at the ends. Roll the ends of the hair around the fabric, ensuring not to crimp or kink them as you start the roll.Since clips don’t have as much holding or staying power as bobby pins, I don’t recommend using this method overnight. It’s easy for clips to fall out while you sleep. I like to do twist and clip curls in the daytime while I do my makeup and get dressed. To get around this issue, I like to do bun curls with 80% dry hair. Here’s how to get great coiled bun curls with no heat: I just covered coiled bun curls, which are super simple and always deliver nice curls. But my go-to method when I want uniform, lasting curls or waves is doing mini bun curls. Yan, Zhe et al. The Global Dimension of Tomato Yellow Leaf Curl Disease: Current Status and Breeding Perspectives. Microorganisms, vol. 9, no. 4, 2021, pp. 740. doi:10.3390/microorganisms9040740

Choose your braid type: You can do any type of braid, including French and Dutch, to get the curly effect. A regular braid also works well, and it is a good option if you want curls through your mid-lengths and ends rather than starting at the root. Brush your damp hair thoroughly and work in the curl-enhancing product of your choice (optional, but recommended). Wait until your hair is about 80% dry before the next step if your hair takes a long time to air dry. To reduce the whitefly feeding that causes tomato yellow leaf curl virus, use reflective mulches (aluminum or silver-colored) between rows. To repel whiteflies and reduce feeding, mix a solution of 0.25 to 0.5% oil spray (2 to 4 teaspoons of horticultural or canola oil with a few drops of dish soap per gallon of water) and apply weekly. Remove plants and bag them for disposal at the end of the growing season. Consider rotating crops the next growing season. Unclip the first section and twist it until it coils around. Make it a loose twist for waves or tight twists for tighter curls. Secure with a scrunchy to avoid kinking the ends.

Straighten & Curl With One Tool

The longer you can leave your braid(s), the more pronounced the waves will be. Here’s how you can create overnight braid curls:

Because tomatoes are in the same plant family as tobacco (nightshades), tobacco users can transmit a mosaic virus to their tomato plants by touching them. Don’t allow smoking near your garden, and wash your hands or glove them before tending tomatoes if you are a smoker.

How to Style

Long hair: Look for a long, wide barrel so that you can curl more hair with each twist and style faster. Work your favorite curl product through your damp hair and brush it thoroughly. Section your hair into 6 (or more) pieces by creating a middle part and dividing each side into 3 portions. Hold each section with a small clip for now. Secure each fully wrapped side with a scrunchy or large elastic around the ends of your hair and the belt or rod (it’ll help prevent kinks in the hair). Remove the claw clip.
