About this deal

Also myDell Display Manager Application also can't run properly. Every time I try to open it shows require a supported DELL monitor and connection. The monitor is still a great display due to its accurate colors, 4K resolution, premium design, and smooth performance, but don’t buy it just for the sake of HDR. Performance In contrast, theDell U2718Q has a peak brightness of 350-nits and only covers the standard sRGB color gamut meaning that its HDR is software-emulated. Some games might look slightly better, but most of the time, you’ll just get oversaturated colors.

Does the Dell UP2720Q live up to expectations, and can it truly be a competitor to professional-grade EIZO, HP and NEC monitors? Let’s take a look at the monitor in more detail and see. Monitor Setup, Overview and Build Quality Display' section of the OSD menu as shown above. We will test the two available modes to see which is optimal. Keep in mind that this screen is not really aimed at gamers, as it Probably a bit late, but... make sure your GFX card (965m) supports HDR and make sure HDR is enabled in the Monitor menu that you manage with your fingers (bottom right). This wasn't the case for me (SmartHDR was OFF) and as a result dxdiag *did not* show up as supporting HDR colorspace. When I switched it on in the menu with my greasy paws and re-ran dxdiag, it showed up as supporting HDR. In the OSD (On-Screen Display), you will find the following settings: contrast, brightness, aspect ratio, sharpness, color format, color temperature, input source selection, RGB, hue, and saturation. For a noticeable improvement in the image quality, an HDR monitor should be able to deliver at least a 400-nit peak brightness (preferably 600 or 1,000) and cover at least 90% of the DCI-P3 color gamut.sure you do NOT want DCI-P3 as calibration target if you are asking, white point is not your typical white. Combined with 4K resolution, Thunderbolt 3 connectivity and a myriad of different input and output ports, the Dell UP2720Q is arguably one of the most feature-rich monitors on the market today. I applaud Dell for making such a fine tool for professionals. It is finally nice to see a worthy competitor to EIZO, HP and NEC. That’s a little better compared to hardware calibration earlier. It seems like this step is not necessary for most photographers out there – hardware calibration by itself should be sufficient. Evaluation of Uniformity

DELL ULTRASHARP 27 4K MONITOR | U2718Q

I connected the monitor to my iMac Pro using the Thunderbolt 3 cable. Once attached, the monitor immediately recognized the connection and turned on. It is nice that the built-in hub provides another Thunderbolt 3 downstream port. This way, the monitor is not eating up another port on the iMac, and I can still connect other Thunderbolt 3 or USB devices to it.Build quality of the monitor is excellent. Dell engineers did a great job designing the screen, the navigation buttons and the on-screen display (OSD), which is very intuitive to use. The buttons are standard push-style buttons, not touch-sensitive ones that you can find on some of Dell’s monitors. The screen has a nice matte coating that does a good job at reducing reflections and glare. zones than an edge-lit option. The above image is taken from the forthcoming Acer Predator X27 display, USB 3.0 downstream ports (2 with fast charging), audio out, uniformity correction, hardware calibration, After hardware calibration was done, I decided to fire up DisplayCAL and verify DCI-P3 D65 calibration with the i1Display Pro colorimeter. Here are the results:
