About this deal

Anna Taylor, a former local girl is assigned to the case and arrives to help DCI Ryan try to solve the case. With all the thrills and spills of your favourite DCI Ryan novels, brought to life by a stellar cast, this book will hook you from the action filled opening, through the story's dark and chilling heart, to its sad but inevitable conclusion.

But overall, a great way to spend 6 hours listening to a gripping story with realistic dialogue and characters I love.Because to be honest they go hand in hand, the storyline was epic, the killer on the loose was scary as hell, how was he getting to the victims, and when one is way way way too close to home, well things go a bit crazy. Bright and brave, loving and endlessly patient, Anna sees the very best in others and seeks always to lift them up. Even as the settings are a character in themselves, the novels are by no means a tourist guide to the locality as the stories are more about the characters that populate the novels. J Ross’s DCI Ryan series, and maybe a bit in love with Ryan himself, and The Infirmary is another hit for me.Nemėgstu tokių ginčytinų autorių sprendimų kaip ir nesuprantu leidyklų politikos leisti serijas nuo vidurio ar išleidus 1-2 serijos knygas visai sustabdyti jos leidybą.

A born leader, he inspires others to be the best they can be and, more importantly, to hope for the best in others, even in the darkest of times. Plus, it has the added bonus of making the mystery a sort of ‘locked room’ type affair because the island is cut off from the mainland during high tides twice each day. Working with people lying to him, minimal clues, I came to the same discovery he did, especially when it came to the sad demise of one of the victims. He is now back in action trying to decipher just who would kill a girl and place her in the strangest position, in a community that barely had 200 people. Ryan has retreated to Holy Island to recover from a tragic case that had a particularly bad effect on his psyche. Having just devoured eight audible books by this author my mind was attuned to the dulcet tones of Jonathan Keeble and his many accents for each of the characters. It took me a while to adjust to that, and if I'm honest, hearing the very familiar voice of Kevin Whately as Frank was weird at first, but he was excellent, and the production on the whole was brilliant. Alun Armstrong was almost unrecognisable as Gregson but again a superb performance, and fantastic narration by Hermione Norris throughout the book, all of them keeping listeners on the hook from beginning to end.
