But, I completely adored this couple. Lowell and moriah were a seemingly perfect match. Their energy and aspirations completely coincided and welcomed a great future for their relationship. I just wish I had actually seen more of their relationship rather than so much meaningless characters thoughts that go on for entire chapters and honestly offered nothing to the plot and which I mostly skimmed over. Morning Glory Milking Farm offers full-time hours, full benefits, and generous pay with no experience needed . . . there’s only one catch. The clientele is Grade A certified prime beef, with the manly, meaty endowments to match. Milking minotaurs isn’t something Violet ever considered as a career option, but she’s determined to turn the opportunity into a reversal of fortune. I think CMN is an incredible writer. This book novella moment isn’t the best example of that for me, though.

I hope one day some college student gets the bright idea to research romance novels to see if they are a way to get into the mindset and worries of women of the 2020s. Dear scholar, in this little niche you have found your answer and it is a resounding “yes”. You can quote me to your professor. I think this is a perfect book for someone stepping into the world of monster romance for the first time (as it mixes the wholesome-ness of a great romance novel with the addiction of some beastly spice) as well as long-time monster romance lovers!I wrote in a review recently that I found a marriage of convenience plot a little unbelievable but that I’d definitely gone with stranger things before so I gave it a pass. This is exactly the kind of book I was referencing in that review.

Gosh I love CM Nascosta. Full disclosure we've been mutuals on IG probably since 2020 and I'm on her Patreon. But I would be straight up if I didn't enjoy this book and GODS, I enjoyed it so much. CMN keeps giving her fans the kind of modern, sexy, well thought out and creative stories we all deserve. I cherish the world she’s built so much and the more it expands the more my heart grows.Writing style aside, this was both weirdly vulgar and weirdly boring. Our heroine is so casually, nonchalantly, insanely horny that she was giving me secondhand embarrassment. She didn't seem like a confident woman embracing her sexuality— she just seemed unstable. Rourke is aware of boundaries and potential conflicts for Violet within her job and he seeks to build a relationship with her outside of sex before things become physical between them – this includes pausing his visits to the farm for a while so as not to confuse things. The way the story treated these kinds of issues made it much more than an erotic romance. I liked the inclusivity of Cambric Creek and the way Violet examines her previously held prejudices and privilege as she learns about the community. I liked the friendships she built outside of her romance with Rourke and a I liked the way that Rourke never sought to control Violet or make any demands about her ceasing work at the farm if she didn’t want to. CMN is one of my queens of monster romance. Ruby Dixon is my alien queen. Finley Fenn is my dark orc queen. CMN and Lillian Lark are my monster queens - the ones who write about everything from an orc to a shifter to a demon to a mothman. In spite of his manwhore-ish past, I still liked the hero. He's sweet and straightforward and didn't cower from telling her how he felt... eventually. Readers have been lusting over vampires since Bram Stoker’s Dracula, but the internet opened new pathways. Monster erotica attracted a burst of media attention around 2014, when the trend was epitomized for the unfamiliar by offbeat titles like Cum for Bigfoot. Then there’s the influence of one of the leading lights of romance self-publishing: Ruby Dixon, author of the sprawling, famously over-the-top Ice Planet Barbarians series, whose heroes are giant blue aliens with glowing blue eyes and horns and an additional “spur” strategically placed on their groins. (Her heroines are accidentally dropped onto their hostile ice planet home by another, villainous group of aliens.)

Moon Blooded Breeding Clinic was sexy, but I think the idea of knotting was a lot sexier in theory than what was actually delivered. I just never felt a true connection between Moriah and Lowell other than their shared loneliness. Yes, they were sexually compatible, but I’m not sure how much of that was because they actually liked each other versus scratching an itch. The writing felt sloppy compared to the other books I’ve read by the author and there were random word errors and repeated phrases throughout. The plot was on the thin side, and all of the filler, inner monologue, and push and pull made the book unnecessarily long. I appreciated that, instead of the hero growing up, the heroine got to regress and let go of her need to be responsible and chasing after being an adult. Great portrayal of therapy. Let's just say Grace was not my favorite. At times I really felt like she wanted the Mothman and other times I felt like she was pushing him too hard to be something she wanted. Not his true self. And, their HEA could’ve been more detailed. I don’t recall them SAYING they love each other… but it’s implied.

Morning Glory Milking Farm - C.M. Nascosta

I also didn’t love hearing so much about Lowell’s previous sexual activities (or that of his brother Grayson’s). There's a scene towards the end where Lowell is so overwhelmed by the heat/moon that he would have had sex with his own brother’s girlfriend (or literally anyone in heat) that made me feel gross. I think it was meant to show how powerful the breeding instinct was, but all it did was make me not believe in his feelings for Moriah. The ending was very rushed and it bothered me so much that Moriah never came clean about what she’d been taking/doing to keep Lowell in her life while she came to a decision about her immediate future. Overall, this was really disappointing. Originally, I was going to skip this book because in my head I couldn't get over the whole moth thing but once I really get to see his heart and the quirkiness behind the man, I was halfway in love. Then his uh... member. That was quite interesting. I've read my fair share of monster peen but nothing quite like that before. Worth the read entirely for that reason alone. He couldn’t stop fidgeting, shuffling his feet in the gravel and wringing the long, spindly fingers that dangled from his hands. What is the world even coming to when I'm sitting here thinking to myself, "I wish this had been lactation erotica."
