About this deal

A compelling and original book....This outstanding first book...has launched a medieval historian of tremendous promise."

The blurb above actually isn’t as terrible as most of them are, since it does get across some important information: Tyler Bell is a priest in a small town outside of Kansas City. He’s young and handsome, and unexpectedly joined the priesthood following a devastating family tragedy. Now that he has his robes, he’s been tasked with reviving this church’s membership and reputation following a sexual abuse scandal with the previous priest that affected Tyler’s family, something that he still hasn’t come to terms with. Although it seems his decision to become a priest was borne out of coping with loss, he genuinely loves what he does and hasn’t questioned his new career path. Well, until Poppy Danforth walks through the door. Poppy is a gorgeous, blue-blooded lawyer from the East Coast who is trying to outrun things in her own past, including a controlling ex-boyfriend and her overbearing parents. Despite her intelligence and grade A career, Poppy is unsatisfied because, much like Kevin Bacon’s character in Footloose, all she wants to do is dance. But since her parents look down on a life as a professional dancer, Poppy says ‘screw them’ and moves to Kansas City, enrolls in a college dance program, and . . . becomes a stripper at an elite private gentleman’s club. As one does. Jin Se Completed: (Wattpad TL: Ch 1 onwards) (Chrysanthemum Garden TL: Ch 8 - end) | 2011 | Shi Wuduan, Bai Li | xianxia This first full-length study of Anglo-Saxon priests' books examines a wide array of evidence, including booklists, music, liturgy, narrative, and, crucially, the surviving manuscripts. The volume opens with a consideration of the context of a priest's life and work, moving on to investigate the issues of clerical literacy and the availability of books to priests, uncovering avenues for priestly education and elucidating the role that the secular clergy played in channels of manuscript production and distribution. The second part analyses the documentary and manuscript evidence for certain classes of priests' books, challenging existing thought and arguing that two poorly understood manuscripts are in fact books for priests. Dyson's study of Anglo-Saxon priests' books, the first full-length study of its kind, advances our understanding of the secular priests who formed the largest literate group in tenth- and eleventh-century England and whose ministries touched the lives of most Christians. Deeply researched, judiciously argued, and clearly written, it offers an accessible overview of priestly expectations and duties, and will prove a reliable guide to further exploration and discovery of the texts and contexts of late Anglo-Saxon pastoral care."A] carefully argued and learned account of how the clergy in pre-Conquest England were able to obtain liturgical books and put them to use in pastoral care." It shows the main character John Milton as an assassin, who considers himself as a craftsman and artisan in his art of committing murders. He is introduced as a man sent by the government to kill the notorious people after they fail in trying everything else. John is described as a ruthless, lethal and brilliant assassin. Poppy’s reasoning for becoming a sex worker is underdeveloped at best, as is her reasoning for the half-baked (and inevitable) third act break-up. Both of which are probably made worse by the fact that the book is entirely told from Tyler’s perspective, so we have no insight into Poppy’s seemingly nonsensical decision making. It’s a lot. But also I think we can all admit to ourselves that if you buy this book, you aren’t necessarily coming for a Pulitzer Prize-winning plot. Mark Dawson is one of the most famous English authors who is very well known for writing thriller novels. He is particularly famous for and currently writing three novels series’ John Milton, Beatrix Rose and Soho Noir. After being born in Lowestoft, Suffolk, England, he was raised in Manchester and Chicago, Illinois. Priests were ubiquitous figures in the Anglo-Saxon world: they acted as educators, agents of royal authority, scribes, and dealers in real estate. But what set priests apart from the society in which they lived was the authority to provide pastoral care and their ability to use the written word. Early medieval bishops saw books as indispensable to a priest's duties and episcopal legislation frequently provided lists of books that priests were to have: tools of the trade for the secular clergy. These books are not only an exceedingly valuable window into pastoral care, but also a barometer for the changes taking place in the English church of the tenth and eleventh centuries.

Mark likes to write his novels, particularly in the suspense, thriller and mystery genres; and says that he was greatly inspired by the successful works of authors such as Bret Easton Ellis, Robert Ludlum, James Elroy and Stephen King. His famous novels have been published in multiple languages all over the world, over the years. The Soho Noir series written by him is set between the years 1940 and 1970 and takes place in the West End of London. Mo Du (The Light in the Night) (Ainushi TL) (QuantumC TL) (E. Danglars TL: completed) | 2016 | Luo Wenzhou, Fei Du | crime, suspense However, he was not able to publish any novel until 2013. Then he began working on the John Milton series, which opened the floodgates of his fame and allowed him to publish multiple novels in a period two years. Along with that, he was able to publish novels of other thriller series’ as well.

Where’s literally anything about the female character, Poppy Danforth?! (Other than the fact she gets railed on top of an altar in Tyler’s church, obvi.) It’s such a weird quirk that really only seems to affect the romance genre, and it’s even worse when a book is told from duel POVs, so the “plot summary” is two vague, mysterious chunks of thought. So, because of that, here I am to answer a few key questions about this book that I hope my parents never find out that I actually read.
