The message that appears on the screen differs depending on the computer's operating system or software installed in the computer, and also depending on whether the camera is being connected to the computer for the first time or has been connected previously.
As you can probably tell from the sample images attached above, the Canon EOS 3000D is a pretty good performer even when in the hands of a beginner. The camera’s 3fps burst also came in handy while I was trying to capture moving subjects. The EOS 3000D is also capable of shooting 1080p video at 30fps and 720p video at 60 fps. However, I wasn’t quite satisfied with the video quality and I would strongly advice you to use a tripod if you plan on shooting video with the camera. As I mentioned earlier, the camera was fairly easy to use and the accompanied manual is definitely worth a read if it is your first experience with a DSLR. I, being a beginner myself, went through it to get up to speed with all of the camera’s features. After that, it was just a matter of practice, and within a couple of hours I was able to capture some fairly decent shots in good lighting conditions. If you're thinking about starting off with photography, the Canon EOS 3000D might be a decent option if you're on a very tight budget, but it does have its flaws like a very slow burst rate and poor high ISO performance. Build and Design For someone who’s starting out, the EOS 3000D will deliver image quality that far exceeds anything you could see from a smartphone or even an advanced point and shoot camera. The limiting factor on the image quality would be the kit lens, which limits the aperture and hence the visual quality. Pairing the EOS 3000D with a nice prime lens is bound to get you far better results and will be a great starting point for anyone venturing into photography, or just wants to elevate their imaging game beyond the smartphone. Overall, the Canon EOS 3000D is a great DSLR for beginners and something I would recommend at its price point.
The camera offers video recording at 1080p on 30fps, but then that again is not ground-breaking. It’s suitable for some clips of your vacation or for basic YouTube videos. The AF is accurate with all the lenses we used the EOS 3000D with, at least during the daytime. Towards the evening, however, the kit lens starts to hunt and by the time we’re in low light situations, the kit lens basically starts losing AF capabilities. When using a Sigma 30 or 50mm prime lens, the AF does improve, which is aided by a larger aperture letting in more light. Additionally, if you were to use a Canon lens which comes with an Ultra Sonic Motor (USM), AF will become faster for sure. Plug the supplied USB cable into the USB port on your computer. The port's location differs between computers. Please refer to the documentation provided with your computer for more information. On the upside, the lightweight body makes the EOS 3000D the ideal choice for casual photo walks and in my use, I didn’t feel any fatigue while using the camera. Another major design change that Canon has had to make with the EOS 3000D concerns the buttons and the dials on the camera.
