About this deal

Up till that point, I didn't even know that this was the regulator, having instead had a go at loosening couplings within the heater itself! Anyway, all told, that was going to cost me €22 to replace, and as the Rep. had pointed out, there was no guarantee that that would fix it, and that maybe I should instead seek out a professional. While pondering this dilemma, and with nothing to lose, I decided to attach an air compressor to the regulator's output - the narrow 'pipe' thing in the above pic - and was delighted to discover on reconnecting it to the heater, that it was working again. Hurray!!!

The Kingavon BB-FH207 Industrial Heater is another good product, but again, only really suitable for small garages or workshops because it’s only 2kw. This brightly coloured unit is hard to miss. As opposed to other heaters that utilise thermostats to regulate room temperature, halogen heaters consist of a bulb that acts as the heating element and has a tungsten filament which gets heated to result in the instant generation of the required radiant energy. The off function is also instant since it turns off the filament stopping generation of radiant energy. This propane-based garage heater has a maximum 700m bar output of 320m³ per hour and should heat up a 200m2 garage. In the real world though I would say it’s suitable for a run of the mill garage, so around 60m2. If you have a well insulated large workshop, then maybe it would be okay for 200m2. You can choose from three different heat settings. If you are looking for a low and steady heat set the heater to the low setting where it will put out 400W of heat. The medium setting takes it up a notch to 800W of heat. When you need powerful heat you want to make sure that you choose the highest setting of 1200W. This setting puts out a lot of heat and you will feel very warm.To aid the portability capability of this heater, it has a top-mounted heat resistant handle. You can, therefore, handle and move the heater, even right after shutting it down the heating. Kingavon 3 kW Industrial Heater– The best garage heater for most people; powerful, easy to use and affordable. It comes with an oscillating function, this function allows the heater to oscillate and thus spread the heat evenly over a room. This function can be turned on and off. The Kingavon 3KW fan heater is probably the best affordable garage heater – Not to be mistaken for the smaller 2KW version! Convection (or convector) heaters: These designs channel air currents through the body of the heater and out into the room. They may take longer to warm the space, but they’re not as noisy and often provide a more even heat around the room.

Heaters have an output measured in watts (W) or kilowatts (kW) and generally you get out in terms of heat what you put in in terms of energy. In a smaller room, or one requiring fill-in heat on top of central heating, you may be happy with something as low as 600W, but larger or colder rooms may need a 1.2kW to 3kW model. How much should I spend? If you’re looking for a heater that won’t use much power and helps cut costs on energy bills, your best bet is a halogen heater, a convection heater or an oil-filled radiator, particularly if they have effective thermostat controls. The ideal is to find a heater that maintains a constant temperature without running at full tilt at all times. Fan heaters are more expensive to run but can heat up a room faster. However, if that room is poorly insulated or draughty you’ll find you’re turning on for another blast more often, driving up the running costs. Are there any other features I should look out for? This portable heating unit features three heat settings such as 400 W, 800 W, and 1,200 W. You can easily achieve the desired temperature in your home or office with a press of a button. The wide-angle oscillation feature lets the unit heat every room in your home or office evenly. The safety tip-over switch will guarantee peace of mind. It automatically switches off the unit when necessary.

This Honeywell Heavy Duty 2.5kw Heater is a good alternative to the Kingavon 3 kW Industrial Heater if you are looking for a heater that is a little more affordable. However, this is not quite as powerful but is still better than most other electric heaters. If you have a well-insulated single garage, this will be more than good enough. If it is drafty, go for the Kingavon model instead. This Kingavon 3 kW Industrial Heater is probably the best garage heater for most people with a small garage. Now, I have been using this in my own standard-sized garage and it heats it up in around 10-15 minutes on a day when it’s around 0° outside. Now my garage is a little drafty and not well insulated, yet this heater still does an excellent job in getting it to a comfortable temperature where I could easily wear shorts and a t-shirt. To improve its portability, this three-bar quartz halogen heater has is made with lightweight. Users can move the heater around with ease. Importantly, lightweight characteristics do not affect the durability and sturdiness of the unit. The Honeywell Heavy Duty Heater is a really good heater if you have a garage or workshop smaller than 30m².

This device is quite easy to use. It has a lightweight and compact design that makes it highly portable. Therefore, you can easily change its location from one place to another in the room. This heater is sold as suitable for heating up to 60 metres squared, so I took it to my dad’s garage. This is a timber-type garage with stables attached, it’s a good-sized garage and more of a workshop, really. Now it’s not insulated, but it is what I would call airtight (not drafty) and it did get the garage to a reasonable temperature and maintain it in around 30m minutes. Despite this, I feel the gas or diesel heaters, such as the Sealey AB458 Space Heater or GardenMile 10Kw Industrial Space Heater would have been a much better option (this is what he usually uses). So I would say this heater was better for smaller garages or maybe well-insulated larger garages and workshops. For elderly users – Beldray’s Portable Oscillating Halogen Heater is a good choice for any elderly users out there, thanks to its light weight and simple functionality. Unfortunately, the elderly community can often be at risk during colder weather, and so a halogen heater can be incredibly useful in this regard. Beldray’s offering makes for a good choice through being portable and powerful; at just over a kilo and with a recessed carry handle it is therefore easy to move around, and wide angles of oscillation make sure the whole room stays warm. Halogen Heater Buying Guide It’s easy to use: just set the required temperature with the digital controls, then leave it to work. However, it still crams in some useful features, including a timer and an eco mode, weighs less than 1.4kg and, with a carrying handle built into the top of the tower, is particularly portable. What’s more, De’Longhi throws in a compact remote control. Unobtrusive and effective, this is one of the best compact heaters around. So it has all the features you would expect from a decent diesel space heater, safety cut-out features, and a more thorough burn of fuel which means greater fuel economy and maximum heating effect. It has a flame-out device that cuts the flame should there be a problem and overall, the build quality of these Sealey diesel space heaters is much better than most of the alternatives we have used over the years, these are built to last.

About Me

The heater can oscillate on its base. This function ensures the heat is spread evenly in a room and nothing is left in the cold. The oscillating function saves on consumption as when heat is spread evenly less heat is used to heat areas that the heat has not reached.

Sealey AB458 Space Warmer – Paraffin Kerosene & Diesel Heater– Compact and great for large garages/workshops. With this heater, you get what you pay for. For a unit in this price range, it is not a bad product. If you need something with more power you would be better off investing the extra money in a more powerful unit. For those who do not want to spend much and still need to warm up a small space, this is the unit for you.Hands-On Testing: We don’t just rely on specifications; we put each halogen heater through rigorous hands-on testing. This allows us to provide measurements of each device’s heating performance, energy efficiency, and ease of use, ensuring you understand how each heater performs in real-world conditions. The heater produces heat on demand and you don’t have to wait. Plug the heater and you get heat instantly. It provides heat to those in cold areas and nobody gets left out. Best for large areas – The wide angles of Highland’s Oscillating Heater is the best choice if you have a larger room to keep warm. Using an industry-standard 3-setting heater, at 400, 800 and 1200W, it’s got all the power you need, but the real difference comes in the oscillation. With a specifically wide 90 °angle of oscillation, it guarantees to reach more into even the further corners of any room, making it an especially good choice for big rooms. Some heaters come with a timer to switch them on just for the evening, say, while others have a temperature display or a remote control. A few heaters are even introducing Wi-Fi connectivity and smart controls, so you can activate and control your heater using an app – or even Alexa voice commands.
