About this deal

Overall, this is a great all-round bivvy that’s fit for all-season carping. It’s not massive inside but it has enough room for two anglers and their belongings. It’s extremely well-designed and is constructed from high-quality materials. The price isn’t too bad either.

It’s super easy to put this bivvy up, and the take-down couldn’t be simpler. However, it’s a bit on the heavy side coming in at 27 kg plus an extra 7 kg with the accessories. This is something to think about if you’re planning on using the bivvy regularly rather than for long-stay sessions where you can park your vehicle close to the swim. There’s enough headroom to stand up straight inside the shelter and plenty of room for two bedchairs, a large table, and enough luggage and bait for a year’s worth of carping! The rear vent now comes with zippers to increase ventilation. It ensures you don't get too hot or too cold while inside. Plus, dual zippers at the front allow for letterbox opening, so you can control how much light and visibility you have. The Avid HQ Dual Layer bivvy is ideal for the angling pair that wants a shelter with plenty of room that’ll keep them comfortable year-round. I’ve tried out the one-man version of this shelter and was thoroughly impressed. I loved the ventilation, the dual layer system without the need for a “clumsy overwrap,” and how adaptable the shelter is for different weather conditions.

Consider whether you need a bivvy that will accommodate two anglers throughout the year. If you’re planning on fishing with a 2-man bivvy through all four seasons you’ll need to make sure that it can keep you cool in summer and warm in winter. It has a fully enclosed twin-skin inner capsule that helps reduce condensation and maintain internal air temperatures. It also has a stitched-in groundsheet to keep you completely sealed in from groundwater and floor-dwelling bugs. Perfect thanks for that and the capsule won’t be a problem because I didn’t bother with it, I’ll only be using it a few times a year when I go with my daughter like mentioned below mate, just wanted a decent sized 2 man so this sounds perfect, it actually turned up this morning so didn’t take long to get it at all If you and your partner enjoy fishing together or you have a friend that you often work with to bag a few carp, you may be looking for a 2-man bivvy. Larger shelters are great for social sessions and carping holidays. They also help save space if you’re constantly fishing together with someone. Will do mate going to give it a test run in a couple weeks and take her fishing with me if it warms up, either way I might just leave my frontier x at home n give it a go we all love new gear lol Only thing i wasn't impressed with was the inner capsule you get. Its not sized great so you cannot fit two beds in it and also when its in you don't have much room at the front for chairs etc. On your own for a week in France i can see it being ok.. but im not that bothered about it. At the very least, a bivvy should have mesh infill panels at the front that can be opened to increase the airflow inside. However, you should definitely look out for extra ventilation features such as side and rear mesh panels when purchasing a 2-man shelter. If you want a 2-man bivvy to accommodate more kit and provide a bit more comfort for holiday-style sessions, you may be concerned about weight. In this case, I’d opt for something such as the Trakker SLX or Sonik SK-TEK. These bivvies have a large internal space but cut down weight by using fewer ribs and lightweight fabric.

It’s only going to be used a few times a year but still wanted a decent one for us to use when she comes Rod retainers are another useful feature worth mentioning. However, most bivvies (certainly the 12 on our list) have these nowadays.

Looking for a new bivvy that’ll accommodate two people can be a hassle. There are so many on the market now and it can be hard to filter through them to find out what will work best for you. The best 2-man bivvy should be large enough to accommodate two bedchairs and two anglers’ luggage with plenty of room to spare. Like any bivvy, a 2-man should be waterproof and breathable. Breathability is especially important with two-person shelters as the combined body heat can create a big condensation issue.

This is a classic pram hood style bivvy that’s absolutely massive. Their promo video even shows a small van driving inside the shelter.

The Sonik SK-Tek 2-man bivvy is a fantastic lightweight shelter for a great price. If you’re on a bit of a budget, this is a fantastic shelter. I haven’t tried this shelter but I love Sonik’s Xtractor Rod series and their SKX Bite Alarms. They are a “budget brand” and not all of their products are fantastic, but they definitely offer quality without the need to break the bank, as long as you know where to look. This bivvy has a space-efficient interior that allows you to locate two bedchairs on either side with plenty of room to spare for two anglers’ luggage and bait in the middle. Have done two week long sessions in France with it on my own, and also done about 6 or 7 weekends in it either fishing or camping with the Mrs and Dog. Consider whether you want a 2-man bivvy that can double up as a large social space or day shelter. Features such as removable front panels and large peaks make 2-man bivvies more usable for socials and summertime fishing.
