About this deal

Saccate flowers are zygomorphic, or bilaterally symmetrical. Unfortunately, the only example I could find was the Nemathus. Alas, it;s another plant I haven’t yet illustrated. Although we can all step outside and study rose pedals and the intricate details of a leaf with our own eyes, we can discover a whole different feeling or detail in an artists’ perception of the very same subjects. Numerous artists from the past have focused their art work on their environment, the days’ changing lights and the nights’ play of shadows, but there are a few in particular that really stand out.

Tolman, H. L. (2008). "Practical wind wave modeling" (PDF). In Mahmood, M.F. (ed.). CBMS Conference Proceedings on Water Waves: Theory and Experiment. Howard University, USA, 13–18 May 2008. World Scientific Publications.Barchans or crescent dunes are produced by wind acting on desert sand; the two horns of the crescent and the slip face point downwind. Sand blows over the upwind face, which stands at about 15 degrees from the horizontal, and falls onto the slip face, where it accumulates up to the angle of repose of the sand, which is about 35 degrees. When the slip face exceeds the angle of repose, the sand avalanches, which is a nonlinear behaviour: the addition of many small amounts of sand causes nothing much to happen, but then the addition of a further small amount suddenly causes a large amount to avalanche. [69] Apart from this nonlinearity, barchans behave rather like solitary waves. [70] Labiate flowers have lips, or are lipped. The flowers look like a throat with an upper an lower lip, resembling a mouth They tend to have long, fused corolla tubes with an enlarged lower lip. Labiate flowers show bilateral or zygomorphic symmetry. First up is Cyanthiform. A Cyanthiform flower is shaped like a cup of a bowl. It has radial or actinomorphic symmetry. The petals curve upwards, forming the bowl shape. Sumrall, Colin D.; Wray, Gregory A. (January 2007). "Ontogeny in the fossil record: diversification of body plans and the evolution of "aberrant" symmetry in Paleozoic echinoderms". Paleobiology. 33 (1): 149–163. Claude Monet was one of the founders of the French Impressionist painting movement. As a young boy with early artistic aspirations, he sold charcoal caricatures to locals and then began attending Le Havre secondary school of the arts.

Fractal-like patterns occur widely in nature, in phenomena as diverse as clouds, river networks, geologic fault lines, mountains, coastlines, [43] animal coloration, snow flakes, [44] crystals, [45] blood vessel branching, [46] Purkinje cells, [47] actin cytoskeletons, [48] and ocean waves. [49] Learn a new skill and master beautiful drawing techniques to capture nature. Starting with some simple techniques, I will teach you how tocreate beautiful sketches of nature. Symmetry has a variety of causes. Radial symmetry suits organisms like sea anemones whose adults do not move: food and threats may arrive from any direction. But animals that move in one direction necessarily have upper and lower sides, head and tail ends, and therefore a left and a right. The head becomes specialised with a mouth and sense organs ( cephalisation), and the body becomes bilaterally symmetric (though internal organs need not be). [36] More puzzling is the reason for the fivefold (pentaradiate) symmetry of the echinoderms. Early echinoderms were bilaterally symmetrical, as their larvae still are. Sumrall and Wray argue that the loss of the old symmetry had both developmental and ecological causes. [37] Barry Van Dusen creates paintings of landscapes, botanicals, birds, and other animals. Many of his works are done en plein air, and some are done within his studio using sketches he has done from life.
