About this deal

But as I went on reading I realized that Josh was actually the best male character I have read in a while. While some aspects of the book (like the humor) never really took off for me, Cousens utilized the now-and-then timelines with care and precision to leave YOU, the reader, as conflicted as Audrey about which man is TRULY right for her! I know it was due to all her emotional baggage but it still wasn’t fair to Josh like I swear Josh I’ll treat you better. Audrey starts to wonder, is marriage still full of fireworks and excitement, or will it be dull and boring. The true heart of the story is about her struggle with her past and whether she’s willing to create a new, more honest future for herself.

And when everything that could go wrong with the wedding starts to go wrong, Audrey has to wonder: could fate be trying to stop her from making a huge mistake? I didn't get how they had anything in common, how they even got along at all, much less how they fell in love with each other. Even with third person narration, Sophie Cousens pulls you directly into her books and into her characters lives, and “Before I Do” was no exception. A light easy read that was needed but the best part for me is when Audrey had to take a good look at herself. I know some people love romance books that are completely predictable, but what was a breath of fresh air for me is that this one truly WASN'T.I whipped through the pages in a day - cheer leading for ‘James and Amy’ as they head towards the most important day of their lives. Her writing is on pitch and thoughtful, balancing serious ideas, like family trauma and the nature of love and commitment, with a light-hearted touch. It is heart warming and a full on entertaining read jam packed with emotion……It is flipping awesome! Summary: After a “meet cute” to end “meet cutes”, Audrey and Fred spend an incredible day together in what feels like the start of a relationship destined for greatness. Yes, parts of the book felt a little over the top, however, it made for an escapist and feel good read.

The side characters, Hillary, Clara, Paul, Granny Parker and Miranda were people I absolutely adored. guy', the man she met six years ago and had one amazing day with but never saw again - Audrey can't help but see it as a sign. I don't know how many authors need to hear this as well as people in general: TRAUMA and MENTAL ILLNESS IS NOT AN EXCUSE FOR TREATING PEOPLE POORLY.

And while the other side characters like Audrey’s mom yeah I have nothing to say about them cause if you don’t have anything nice to say don’t say anything at all. They had a second date planned and he never showed up but she remembers how different and excited she felt. Audrey was supposed to be torn between these two guys (for some reason), but she has very few interactions with Fred and spends most of the "present" chapters running from Josh.
