To mark this milestone, the layout of the book has been updated in line with that found in other major national guide books that appear annually such as National Trust and English Heritage. I do not know how much those numbers have changed two years on, but it is obvious we have lost some good breweries, some great pubs but most importantly some exceptional people. However, pubs are currently facing a torrid time with rapidly rising costs and it is important that we continue to support them or we will lose even more. Entries for each venue give details on factual information such as opening times, food availability and accessibility of the property, as well as subjective information such as the attractiveness of the wallpaper and the welcome visitors are likely to get from the bar staff.

With a mix of brewers, press, Iron Maiden fans and more, CAMRA celebrated the forthcoming release of The Good Beer Guide 2024 at Signature Brewery in Walthamstow. We've also defined the different types of beers for you, so while you're sipping on that new IPA you are loving, you can read up about the differences between a New England–style and a West coast–style. Along with the existing numerous London pubs already on the list, a whole new load of boozers have been added this year. The latest edition of the CAMRA Good Beer Guide has been published, with 28 Kent pubs making the list for the first time. It became so popular that last year they extended at the back, transforming a leaking garage into a cosy 20-seater outhouse with a log burner. The ability to comment on our stories is a privilege, not a right, however, and that privilege may be withdrawn if it is abused or misused.

The first edition of The Good Beer Guide was published in 1972 and since then it has gone from strength to strength and now covers 4500 pubs across all regions in the UK and NI.
