About this deal

A white chocolate base, a layer of strawberry, crispy pieces and a white chocolate coating – it has all the ingredients to be tooth-achingly sweet.

The base has a light, milky cocoa flavour – something Grenade hasn’t done in a while. It’s not an intense chocolate, but it shouldn’t be. The chocolate is rich, but it strikes just the right balance so as to not detract from the real star – the salted caramel.

Taking a bite, the overwhelming flavour is strawberry and it’s actually very similar to a McDonald’s strawberry milkshake. It’s definitely an artificial flavour (think strawberries on steroids) but it’s by no means unpleasant. Although they used to be called ‘Carb Killa’, this is not because they are low or ‘no carb’. It is because the carbs that are in it, are not just loads of refined sugars, which for something that tastes good, is rare. Protein Blend (Calcium Caseinate (Milk), Whey Protein Isolate (Milk), Hydrolysed Whey Protein Concentrate (Milk)), Dark Chocolate With Sweetener (20%) (Cocoa Mass, Sweetener; Maltitol; Cocoa Butter, Emulsifier; Soy Lecithin; Natural Flavouring), umectant; Glycerol; Water, White Chocolate With Sweetener (Sweetener; Maltitol; Cocoa Butter, Whole Milk Powder, Emulsifier; Soy Lecithin; Natural Flavouring), Cocoa Nibs, Palm Fat, Isomalto-oligosaccharide, Soy Nuggets (Soy Protein Isolate, Cocoa, Tapioca Starch), Natural Flavouring, Fat Reduced Cocoa Powder, Raspberry Powder (Raspberry Concentrate, Maltodextrin), Acidity Regulator; Citric Acid; Sweetener; Sucralose; Red Beet Juice Powder (Maltodextrin, Red Beet Juice Concentrate, Acidity Regulator; Citric Acid)

Food Supplements are intended to supplement the diet and should not be substituted for a varied diet or healthy lifestyle. A protein barcan be a healthier alternative to chocolate bars, offering additional nutrition. When eaten in moderation, they can be a great addition to a healthy, balanced diet and can help you to achieve your fitness goals! When should I eat a protein bar? Although strong, the banana flavour isn’t overwhelming and mixes well with the chocolate and the hint of salt from the caramel.GRENADE® CARB KILLA should be consumed as part of a balanced diet. Product contains more than 10g/100g polyols: excessive consumption may cause laxative effects. As usual, the chocolate is good quality and melts as soon as you take a bite. Plus the chocolate chips are a nice addition, making for a more interesting texture and intensifying the creamy cocoa flavour. Protein Blend (Calcium Caseinate (Milk), Whey Protein Isolate (Milk)), Milk, Chocolate with Sweetener (20%) (Sweetener; Maltitol; Cocoa Butter, Whole Milk Powder, Cocoa Mass, Emulsifier; Soy Lecithin; Natural Flavouring), Bovine Collagen Hydrolysate, Humectant; Glycerol; Sweeteners; Maltitol, Sucralose; Palm Oil, Water, Fat- reduced Cocoa Powder (3%), Wheat Flour, Maize Starch, Rapeseed Oil, Bulking Agent; Polydextrose; Sea Salt, Wheat Starch, Emulsifier; Soy Lecithin; Raising Agents; Ammonium Carbonates, Sodium Carbonates; Acidity Regulator; Sodium Hydroxide; Flavourings In many ways this bar is similar to the Caramel Chaos – Obviously, the chocolate coating and the texture are exactly alike, but the flavour is overall pretty similar too if I’m honest. I think I’d have to eat them one after the other to really distinguish between them. It makes a nice change and it’s certainly better than the Chocolate Crunch the brand brought out a couple of years ago, but I’d go for the Fudge Brownie bar over this any day. Peanut Butter and Jelly – 9/10

I’m SO glad Grenade has done another sweet/salty flavour. They nailed the White Chocolate Salted Peanut flavour, and I had all faith they’d nail this one too. Texture-wise, it’s pretty similar to the other Grenade bar flavours, except the creme offers a smoother, creamier, texture than Grenade’s usual caramel layer and the Oreo pieces are less crunchy than the crispies found on the likes of Caramel Chaos and Jaffa Quake. What’s more, it manages to maintain Grenade’s usual, pretty solid macros – 21g protein, 20g carbs, 10g fat and just 1g of sugar, all for 233 kcal. Actual magic! Milk Protein (Calcium Caseinate, Milk Protein Isolate, Whey Protein Isolate), Milk Chocolate With (Sweetener; Maltitol, Cocoa Butter, Whole Milk Powder, Cocoa Mass, Emulsifier (Soy Lecithin), Flavours) 18% Gelatine Hydrolysate, Bulking Agent (Polydextrose), Humectant (Glycerol), Soy Crisps (Soy Protein, Tapioca Strarch, Salt) Soy Crisp (Soy Protein, Tapioca Starch, Salt) Cocoa Butter, Soy Protein, Soy Oil, Fat Reduced Cocoa Powder, Palm Fat, Sweeteners (Xylitol, Sucralose), Skimmed Milk Powder, Flavours, Salt, Emulsifier (Soy Lecithin) Bang on. The base is the same nougat-like centre as the rest of the bars but with a soft peanut flavour in this case. It’s certainly not a full-on peanut flavour, but it is enough to blend well with the chocolate and the peanut chunks add some extra flavour and crunch. The question is, which pin to pull? There are 12 flavours (at the time of writing) and we have 11 of them here for you today…
