About this deal

There are six different tools available (separately) for cutting, writing, scoring and foiling. The fine-point blade is included with your machine. The Cricut Explore 3 uses Bluetooth technology to connect with Cricut’s free Design Space app via iOS, Android, Windows or Mac devices. Use the app to create and personalise your designs, ready for the machine to bring them to life. You might have noticed that the Cricut Explore 3 has a bit of a sleeker design than previous Explore models. This is because Cricut has removed the material selection dial from the machine, moving the material selection process into the Design Space software. What do I need to get started with Cricut Explore 3? If you are not using Smart Materials and are cutting your project using a Cricut mat, then the cutting speed is the same as Cricut Explore Air 2, which is still 2x the speed of the original Cricut Explore machine. Cricut Smart Materials and Matless Cutting

Even if you own an older Cricut Maker we'd suggest buying a Cricut Explore 2 for its Smart Materials compatibility (Image credit: Rachael Phillips)Cricut Smart Materials are materials that are specifically designed to be cut without a Cricut mat. Matless cutting with was introduced with Cricut Joy in 2020, but it’s now expanded to Cricut Explore 3 and Cricut Maker 3.

I don’t have the Cricut Explore 3 to test yet, but I cut the same file (Cricut Design Space #M910B84D) on my Cricut Maker and my Cricut Maker 3 to show the difference in speed. The Cricut Explore 3 should be similarly faster. So Hobbycraft price matching is all a bit of a con - T&C's below - It's what they don't say that's important though... Forget Hobbycraft price matching! Whether you’re crafting iron-on custom clothing, personalising accessories and décor with vinyl decals or designing the perfect gift, this dream machine will get your projects done in record time. The Cricut Explore 3 cuts two times faster than the Cricut Explore 2’s fast mode (up to 8 inches per second) when using Smart Materials. On first logging into Design Space, you will be taken on a tour and shown how to create your first project. However, if you need further help, there are lots of tutorials on the Cricut YouTube channel that take you through Design Space’s many capabilities. A handy expanded storage cup can be accessed when you open up the machine and offers plenty of room for all your tools When it comes to accessories, you can use nearly all of the same ones as the other Cricut machines. Read our Cricut EasyPress Mini review to see why this a great accessory to have on hand, especially if you plan to personalise your own clothes. Our Cricut The MugPress review also shows why this gadget is fun, and it works very well with the Cricut Explore 3, as you can use the Smart Infusible Ink material to create your own mug designs. If you've already got the Joy or an older machine, you might be wondering what the hype is around the new features and if it’s really worth upgrading to the Cricut Explore 3. Similarly, if you're ready to dip your toe into the world of Cricut, you may be wondering which is the best machine to buy. If you already own the Cricut Explore Air 2, it's worth upgrading to the Cricut Explore 3 if you frequently do large projects. For example, imagine if you were to make a banner, sign, or wall treatment that is up to 12 feet long with the Cricut Explore Air 2. You'd have to make many separate cuts, taking your materials on and off the mat as many as 12 times.

The Cricut Explore 3 is competitively priced just below the newer and more capable Cricut Maker 3 (Image credit: Rachael Phillips) They also added a holder for your device like on the Maker. This is helpful if you work in the mobile apps—it just gives you a place to set your device. When purchasing a Cricut Explore 3, you’ll find that most places will offer the machine on its own or as part of a ‘bundle’ deal where you can get the machine plus a selection of other related items and tools. These bundles can be a great value way to get started with a Cricut, especially if you are brand new to using the machines. Max Material Load is subject to roll length and Design Space® software limitations. For more information about your warranty, visit cricut.com/warranty Whether you're already a firm Cricut fan or are wondering if the much-hyped machines can transform your crafts, chances are you've heard of the Cricut Explore.I like to look at this machine sort of like you would the next generation of your phone. If you want all the latest and greatest updates (in this case, if you want long matless cuts or want to cut faster), then you probably want to get Cricut Explore 3 or Cricut Maker 3. I’ve been wanting the larger matless Smart Materials ever since they were released with Cricut Joy so this is definitely an upgrade I am excited about! From there, you can select your new machine and follow the on-screen instructions to get it hooked up to your computer. How is Cricut Explore 3 different than other Cricut Explore machines? Cricut Explore 3 is one of the next generation of Cricut cutting machines, which also includes Cricut Maker 3. These reengineered machines give you even more ways to create with your Cricut, as you’ll see below. Where Did the “Air” Go? Cricut Design Space will walk you through the set-up process and also take you through a small sample project to show you all the features of your new machine If you are happy with your current machine, you don’t necessarily need to upgrade at this time. Like you would with a phone or other device, you sort of know when it’s time to upgrade. And when you do, I definitely recommend one of the two new machines, depending on your needs. You can see my Cricut Machine Comparison that is now updated with all of these new machines, in case you need help deciding which machine is for you.
