About this deal

I am guessing these were transfers from the DVD SE are possibly due to available source material i.e. film as opposed to videotaped sequences. Just curious as to why Inferno, Colony and the Time Monster looked noticeably better than these two episodes using the same technique if any one can shed any light on this? Note that the info text on the original DVD for Episode One opened with the Radio Times description of the episode; at the time this was so unusual it was described by some as an Easter Egg.

Due to authoring errors, replacement discs were made available for seasons 12 and 18 to correct audio mixing issues. Reissues of these sets included the replacement discs. A colourful adventure with some hideous monstrosities, both alien and the Whitehall “England for the English” types. There is also an opportunity to watch an extended version of Episode 1. The additional scenes don’t particularly add much to the story but they are nice to have reinstalled. If you are so inclined then the full studio recording session is also available to watch at your leisure. No features from the DVD were removed. The original VHS contained colour footage highlights and a restoration credit sequence, neither of which have been reissued digitally. In the US, sets typically release a few months after the UK release, with the exception of seasons 12, 19 and 18 which were released closer to, or in some cases before, the UK release. The Master creates the Keller Machine, a device that appears to rehabilitate prisoners, but instead kills them.
