I have never curled my toes so tightly and had my stomach churn so violently whilst reading. Kim seems perfect. She is perfect. She says and does all the right things. I enjoyed this immensely despite knowing I probably shouldn’t. Kim is a monster. One of those human monsters that walk around looking like everyone else and pretending to be like the others. Full Brutal is cruel and evil and so very wrong but the fact that the perpetrator of all of these horrible misdeeds is a beautiful teenage girl worked for me. I’m not even going to pretend to lie, if it had been a grown man telling this story and finding such joy and glee in these atrocities I might’ve pulled the plug, I refuse to think about that too much or attempt to explain myself so please don't ask. You like what you like, you know? And this book held me in its gore-filled grasp until the very last word.

Kim becomes obsessed with the idea of losing her virginity, and she begins to consume porn as a result. Her porn consumption becomes more and more intense, leading her to watch more disturbing pornography, including, but not limited to, BDSM and torture porn.

The icing on the cake, for me, was how intelligent she was. I especially enjoyed all the meticulous research she did on serial killers to help her understand and follow her own desires and instincts. It is improbable that a sixteen-year-old girl could pull off so much cold-blooded murder, body mutilation, evisceration, cannibalism, autosarcophagy, and torture (both physical and mental), but Triana’s rapid-fire, explicit, and vividly realistic writing is such that readers are likely not to give that much thought—wondering, instead, what is going to happen next. Likewise, Triana does not provide a lot of detailed insight into Kim’s motivation other than the satisfaction her despicable actions provide her. Ironically, when Kim reflects upon herself, she usually sees a victim or someone who is tremendously proud of her intellect and machinations; her ability to control and affect the lives of others. She is a flesh-eating disease, a serpentine monster out of control for whom “hurting people is an art” to be “enjoyed”—a monster the likes of which today’s society often sees reflected in “mass shooters and suicide bombers.” Ironically, at one-point Kim, who is the first-person narrator of the story, comments, serial killers “aren’t in the news much anymore. The thing that was so great about this though, is it's such a fluid story. The plot is cohesive and the pace, as well as the intensity somehow continue to build throughout until the absolute vomit-inducing end. It's twisted, deranged and I enjoyed how it sort of flipped the script on the sex-violence connection. After Kim discovers her attraction to torture porn, her imagination runs wild and she'll stop at nothing to reach new levels of euphoria. Triana, is a beast; a truly violent wordsmith with his finger on the pulse of making a Reader uncomfortable. There are images in this I will never be able to wipe from my memory. When she begins to think about losing her virginity, she decides to lose her virginity to one of her teachers, Mr. Blakley. After successfully manipulating Mr. Blakley into having sex with her, which she describes as being gross and not the life-changing experience that she expected, Kim decides to ruin Mr. Blakly's life by exposing him. When the plan works, Kim becomes excited by the feeling of ruining a person's life, so she begins to ruin and destroy the lives of those around her, including her friends. Gradually, her sadistic spiral downwards causes her to turn to more extreme things such as violence, drugs, sabotage, and even murder. This story follows high school Junior, Kim White, who is beautiful, smart, popular and the star of the cheer squad. Girls want to be her and everyone wants to be with her. She has the world in the palm of her hand. This book will not be for everyone but it was definitely for me. It managed to take my mind off of the current hellish timeline we’re caught up in and thrust me into someone else's for a few hours.But, yeah, this book is not for everyone. It is extreme horror and by extreme I mean extremely gross and violent. Prepare thyself. Kim's relationship with her father, her big ole house, the fact that she didn't vibe with high school boys was total Cher, if Cher had been a psychotic bitch hell bent on destroying everyone around her. The problem is (well, aside from all the moral issues, that is), Kim isn't content with just sleeping with Mr. Blakley. The act itself offers very little satisfaction. She finds, rather, that she is stimulated by his subsequent remorse and anguish. She realizes that her happiness depends on watching others suffer. She decides "...to play an intricate role in his self-destruction." The final few chapters included probably the most grossest of gross scenes that I have ever read in my entire horror-loving life. I can't even wrap my head around it all.
