About this deal

In addition to being fascinating creatures to observe, Aqua Dragons have many benefits as pets. They are easy to care for and don't require a lot of space, making them a great choice for apartments or people with limited living space. They are also a fun and educational pet for children, teaching them about life cycle, aquatic life and the importance of caring for living creatures. To turn the LED light on there’s a little switch in the base. You’ll need to put in 2 AAA batteries (not included) to make the light work. As a general guide, you would normally feed Aqua Dragons every 2-3 days if you have many Aqua Dragons, and every 3-4 days if you have fewer.

The balloon was specially designed so that when it reaches space (commonly recognised as 30 Km from the Earth’s surface, which is three times as high up as planes fly), it will burst. The helium in the balloon expanded to cause the balloon to burst. Our flight reached 32.5km high before the balloon burst and you can see the amazing footage from the space cam video! Make sure the temperature remains in the correct zone (17-30 °C) and that the tank gets plenty of natural light.

Grow your own live aquatic pets

Aqua Dragons have been living in the sea and in salty lakes on the earth for millions of years including while dinosaurs roamed the Earth! Under optimal conditions - if you care for your Aqua Dragons very well - they can live for a few months. This is their normal life cycle and it is completely normal for them to die within a few months, so when this happens, don’t worry that you have done something wrong. It can vary quite a bit depending on how many eggs were in the sachet and the conditions in the tank. You can expect anywhere between a dozen or so up to a hundred!

To create a suitable habitat for your Aqua Dragons, you'll need an aquarium. You can buy various shapes, you can also use a glass or plastic jar. The water should be between 17-30°C and does not need to be changed. Aqua Dragons require a well-balanced diet which we supply in the food sachet. Proper feeding is essential for the health of your Aqua Dragons. Feed them small portions of Aqua Dragons food every 2-3 days. Overfeeding can result in poor water quality and can harm your Aqua Dragons. It's also important to make sure the water in their habitat is not too cold, as this can slow down their metabolism and affect their ability to digest food. Having had Sea Monkeys when I was young and been entirely underwhelmed, I wondered what the children would make of the the tiny aquatic Aqua Dragons. Sunlight - natural light is beneficial and sunlight is good as long as it does not cause the water to become too hot. Their very efficient way of living and reproducing has enabled them to arrive to today’s day almost exactly as they were millions of years ago. Tests have found that eggs kept in air sealed containers for up to 20 years still hatched when they were returned to water.Aqua Dragons are small, shrimp-like creatures that can be found in stagnant bodies of salt water all over the world. They are known for their rapid life cycle, which allows them to mature from eggs to adult in just a few weeks. They can live up to two years in the right conditions. So the Aqua Dragons are real little time travellers which you can hatch and grow at home, waking them up from their hibernation. We received the Aqua Dragons Deluxe Deep Sea Habitat with LED lights free for the purposes of this review but words and pictures are my own. It’s important not to overfeed your Aqua Dragons. How often to feed them depends on the number of Aqua Dragons there are and how much food there is remaining in the tank.

Yes, Aqua Dragons are living creatures that exist in the wild - their official scientific name is Artemia Salinas. When you receive them, your Aqua Dragons eggs are in a state of hibernation called Cryptobiosis, and they need you to bring them to life! See a full explanation of the life cycle of these amazing creatures here . From the moment we started working with these tiny unique creatures, we felt and still feel, that they are one of the all time best toys and pets ever, and have been putting our heart, soul and creative minds into innovating the concept so curious kids and animal lovers everywhere can access a kit and grow their own pets. Aqua Dragons ToyHatching and growing Aqua Dragons helps children learn important values like caring for a living being, being responsible by remembering to feed and care for them, and treating live animals with respect. The project is also highly educational in terms of science, anatomy, biology, marine biology and even history and geography where our activity and instruction booklet covers all these areas in an enjoyable way. It’s impossible to say for sure, but they certainly might! If you see two adults swimming while joined together, then they are mating. The male is below and grasps the female with some antenna-like protrusions that sprout from his head. They may stay like that for a few days. The eggs are too small to see, but you may notice the new baby Aqua Dragons appear. Don’t worry, the adult Aqua Dragons won’t eat them! Aqua Dragons only eat algae. If there is food still floating in the water (the water is cloudy) then they don’t need to be fed. If the water looks quite clear and the aqua dragons are looking for food in the sediment formed on the bottom of the tank, then it’s time to feed them. Aqua Dragons are live aquatic creatures with a scientific name, Artemia Salina from the crustacea family, their eggs have an amazing natural capacity called diapause which allows them to stay alive but hibernating in a dried state only to hatch many years later. I kept the tank going for a further week just in case they were hiding, aerating the tank every now and then, but alas, our dragons had ceased to be. They were ex-aqua dragons. RIP little buddies.

Aqua Dragons are little aquatic creatures also known as brine shrimp or artemia to tropical fish keepers like us. I won’t scar you by letting you know what we do with them but they are labelled ‘live food’. You may be able to see your Aqua Dragons using a magnifying glass in as little as 24 hours, and you should be able to see some with the naked eye within 3-4 days.

We were sent the Aqua Dragons Deluxe Deep Sea Habitat with LED lights to review.

Aqua Dragons have been living in the sea and in salty lakes on the earth for millions of years including while dinosaurs roamed the Earth! They eat, swim, fight, reproduce, lay eggs or they give birth to their babies and much more… They have a lot of different ways of behaving, you can see what they do and what it means in the diagram below: It’s not normally necessary, but if you want to clean the tank you can carefully tip your Aqua Dragons (and their water) into another clean container while you rinse out their tank. Only use water and a clean cloth or brush to clean the tank, don’t use any chemicals or detergent, because that could harm your Aqua Dragons. When you feed the Aqua Dragons, don’t use more than one level spoonful of food - and always use the special tiny spoon that comes with your Aqua Dragons kit. Aqua Dragons are most sensitive in their first weeks of life, so to avoid problems follow this advice:
