About this deal

Dr Jane Foster ( Natalie Portman) in Thor. The character has been adapted into an astrophysicist instead of the nurse she was in the original comic book material. This one is interesting because Portman is something of a hot scientist herself - see the "Real Life" section below. That is why, even though it has no bearing on what you feel, you would wish to mount a defense of your feelings that would persuade a majority to share them, if you think that you sensitivity (or insensitivity) should be more normal. Agatha Clay née Heterodyne of Girl Genius is plenty hot. Gilgamesh Wulfenbach of the same comic probably counts as a male version. Creator/WernerHerzog''': This woman walked in wearing a jumpsuit and it said 'sonar operator'... and she did ''not'' look like a sonar operator.

Youtia in Eien no Aselia in an unkempt sort of way, though you generally can't tell because the art for her normal sprite is sort of deformed looking. Eek the Cat parodied it in its Sci Fi parody, with Elmo having to choose between the plan of an Einstein-looking super-genius, or the plan of the Bambi twins, who had gotten a B+ in physics. Have you considered why you feel that way? Why is it so important to you, to feel you have a right to objectify women without their permission? More importantly, why do the feelings of women who have had very shitty experiences with such objectification, take precedence over the feelings of women who haven't? Should we also give equal weight to the opinion of women who believe "those sluts" deserve it, because they're uppity career women - instead of the homemakers god intended they be?I'm putting this post under "education" because I define a new term at the end of it. Which, of course, qualifies it to be educational. And if they want to be super proactive, the place where they will actually need to get young ladies involved is in school, as early as possible. This is not news to anyone. Many people have been working toward this goal in the classroom for a long time. If you want female scientists, help teachers get them involved. And instead of assuming that the only way a woman would want to be part of a scientific field would be in the development of hair care products, how about you ask them what they would like to pursue? Kirk and Francine Langstrom are both very attractive - when they're not Man-Bat (or Woman-Bat). Then again, if you've got a thing for furries, nobody's stopping you.

I call a spade a spade. I don't hide behind some sexist list and ignorance (feigned or otherwise). Whether he meant it to be derogatory or oppressive is irrelevant, which is the entire point; those with privilege can get away with it as long as they don't mean it." A Hot Scientist is frequently a Hot Librarian as well, and often ends up a Girl of the Week or Temporary Love Interest. Could be considered an evolution of the Mad Scientist's Beautiful Daughter, combining the scientist and his daughter into one character (although they tend to be sane). She may also be an Action Girl in a Badass Labcoat.Or, if you're feeling punny, a Test Tube Babe. More a staple of movies (especially science fiction), but also appears regularly on TV. Safiya in Neverwinter Nights 2 is the closest thing you get to a scientist in Forgotten Realms, being a transmuter and golem-builder. And is hot. ComicBook/TankVixens'' has Dr. Duffelbunny, the bubble-headed "scientist" who prefers to practice her physics in lingerie than in a lab.

Yui Ikari and Naoko Akagi were pretty easy on the eyes, too. Now if only we'll ever get to see what Kyoko Soryu actually looked like... The Final Five Cylons were scientists in their original lives, which means that Sam Anders, Galen Tyrol, Tory Foster and Ellen Tigh were Hot Scientists. A so-called “Nudie Cutie” film about astronauts landing on the moon and finding it inhabited by female nudists. This was actually famed sexploitation director, Doris Wishman’s first movie. THE SEX MACHINE (1975)Doc from Texhnolyze is a great example of this trope. Though she's also rather disturbed... and probably other things. She considers herself Ichise's "Second Mother" and has sex with him. Which the storyline manages to make into something alternatively disturbing, tragic and romantic. In the end, it's heavily implied that she commits suicide. The movie adaptation of The Saint had Elisabeth Shue as a physicist who had developed a reliable method for cold fusion. Professor Fudo of Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's. As the man behind Momentum/Enerdy's discovey and implementation, he's also the main Protagonists' father, and the first Yu-Gi-Oh! onscreen blood-related parent that was shown in both Japanese and American anime. He's also the poster boy of the theory 'you can inherit your parents' hairstyles'. There is a wide distribution of sensitivity to issues like this. The sensitivity of some posters here is on one end of the spectrum. Their feelings are nevertheless real and it is unkind to dismiss them. Someone who does is not, though, a misogynist or exerting "male privilege" - they are just being insensitive. Raven from Questionable Content went to college to study physics (ironically, she's been portrayed as a complete ditz so far). She dresses up in a labcoat for lectures because it "feels sciency".
