About this deal

Nicola has been missing for five days now, after she vanished while walking her dog on a towpath by the River Wyre in St Michael’s on Wyre, Lancashire. Specialist search teams from Lancashire Police, beside the bench where Nicola Bulley's phone was found.

Earlier on Tuesday, Lancashire Police had appealed to find a witness who was believed to have been in the area at the time mother-of-two Nicola Bulley, 45, was last seen. The Seven Sisters series is drawn to its epic, unforgettable conclusion in Atlas: The Story of Pa Salt. She went missing last Friday morning, with her mobile phone found on a bench near to where she was last seen on a towpath by the River Wyre in St Michael's on Wyre, Lancashire.

The Seven Sisters series sees Lucinda Riley at the top of her game: she is a magical storyteller who creates characters we fall in love with and who stay with us long after we finish reading. Her latest book, The Missing Sister, is what we’ve all been waiting for.’ The family of a Sussex woman, missing for almost a week, say they can't give up hope of finding her alive. They only have one clue – an image of a star-shaped emerald ring. The search to find the missing sister will take them across the globe; from New Zealand to Canada, England, France and Ireland, uniting them all in their mission to at last complete their family. My mum always describes mediocre films and books as ‘quite entertaining’ or ‘diverting’. This book quite simply sums up both these statements; it was ‘ok’ and it did keep me entertained for a couple of days, but it is no great work of fiction. When everything eventually came to light I was slightly confused. Without spoiling it, a lot of the information involved is heavily medical, and went right over my head. So even now having finished the book I still can’t entirely understand what the motive behind it all was. This book is a direct follow-on from 'Girl, Missing' which is set two years in the past, and features many of the same characters. Although reading the earlier book first will give a clear context for this one, it is quite possible to enjoy this as a stand-alone. There are plenty of references to the previous story to explain relationships between the main characters, often in the form of heated and angry exchanges which clearly show that achieving a goal is not necessarily the end of the story in such situations. Indeed, the most intriguing part of this whole book is the examination of how Lauren and her two families cope after the police and the newspapers have gone. In the midst of all the danger and drama, Lauren finds herself worrying about the future of her relationship with Jam, and the ever-present sullenness and anger from Shelby reminds her at every turn that she is not as welcome in her own family as she had dreamed she would be. The alarm is raised at 10.15am by a walker who found her Springer Spaniel running loose The dog’s harness and lead were found on a bench, along with her phone, which was still connected to a work conference call While I was reading this I did think that this family suffered many problems and that annoyed me because I thought that yes, family's do have many problems and I thought this family always being kidnapped was unrealistic. So you can see that that annoyed me and that is another reason why I only rated it 4 and not a 5. If you know her, or believe this may be you, please get in touch. You may not think you know anything but you might have seen something that could be significant.”

I felt this book was great as a sequel to girl missing- it has everything that a good thriller should but still makes the book accessible for younger teens who are just starting out the genre. It’s faced paced, snappy and jumps right into the action without dawdling around the events of its predecessor to the point of unavoidable boredom. Her parents, Ernest, 73 and Dot, 72 told the paper yesterday: “We will never stop looking for her.” In doing so, they will slowly unearth a story of love, strength and sacrifice that began almost one hundred years ago, as other brave young women risked everything to change the world around them . . . Bunches of flowers were left at the scene from local dog walkers paying tribute to Ms Bulley and her family.

This remains a missing person inquiry and at this time there is nothing to suggest any third-party involvement in Nicola’s disappearance. Immediately before going missing, Ms Bulley was walking her dog, springer spaniel Willow, who was found loose between the river and bench.
