Yes, here we have Midway’s infamous contribution to the history of arcade gaming, MORTAL KOMBAT 3™, along with its revered follow ups MORTAL KOMBAT II™ and ULTIMATE MORTAL KOMBAT 3™! Szabo’s Arcades has had the opportunity to offer exclusive projects that were hand-drawn and created by Brian for Szabo’s products. These items will be sold in limited quantities only. Bringing you authentic (and yes, way nostalgic!) arcade experiences in an easily assembled design, Arcade1Up game machines are must-haves for your family game room, fan cave, or a welcome distraction in the office. They play great, look great, and are instant conversation pieces.
The 17-inch screen on the Mortal Kombat Arcade1Up cabinet is impressive. It's extremely bright and I didn't notice any smearing or other ugly ghosting effects. The vintage 1990s graphics look awesome on the screen, with bright colors and a deep red in the important pixelated blood, of which there is a lot. The riser has the Mortal Kombat logo on the front and Mortal Kombat II decals on the sides. It's subtler than some of Arcade1Up's other designs, blending more in with the rest of the cabinet. Whilst we will do everything we can to meet the delivery times above, there may be factors outside of our control and we cannot guarantee delivery within this time frame. The question remains with Arcade1Up cabinets: what sacrifices have to be made to get a 4-foot arcade cabinet replica in your home? All of these have been rescaled to fit Arcade 1Up from years of reproducing arcade art. All of these are from original full size cabinet files that I have spent endless hours on redoing each an every single marquee for accurate arcade reproductions. It pretty obvious an arcade machine with arcade ROMs would include the attract mode, but I still found it delightful to leave the cabinet on with the volume off and have Mortal Kombatants squaring off, trying to entice me to play. It's also a great way to make a guest excitedly ask "Wait a second, is that Mortal Kombat?" It’s time to Play Again™ with Arcade1Up Collectorcades ™, featuring 16-bit versions of your favorite arcade titles. Gorgeous design, excellent arcade action, and an amazing addition to any retrogaming enthusiast’s game room, office, or collectibles room. The cabinet can connect to the internet over Ethernet or Wi-Fi , though it had some problems keeping a wireless connection in testing. Arcade1Up has an online system for its games, with support for drop-in/drop-out multiplayer for people who own the same cab. You can make your games open for anyone, or just for people on a friends list, and manage all that for your entire collection (if you have more than one cabinet) with the Arcade1Up app. Multiplayer is nice in theory, but we were unable to find any open games available during testing. The online system keeps leaderboards for each game, though, so you can indirectly compete with your friends or everyone with a connected Arcade1Up cabinet.A scanline filter can’t really reproduce the look of a CRT monitor when showing old games. Still, the cabinet’s 17-inch LCD offers a bright, colorful, and crisp picture, with arcade graphics upconverted to 960p on a 1080p screen sharply through emulation. It doesn’t add any detail, but it doesn’t make the huge pixels look fuzzy or blotchy, either. CollSmall size, big fun, huge nostalgia! The games are emulated, but look and feel just as they did in the arcade. That means Mortal Kombat feels a bit stiff and Toobin has odd paddling, and that’s just fine. This is a nostalgia machine, and if you’re interested in it you know you’re getting into 30-year-old games with all their flaws and quirks. They’re still fun experiences, whether you're trying to perform a fatality on your friend in Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3, grinding through floor after floor in Gauntlet, or serving root beers in Root Beer Tapper. The Midway Legacy Edition uses Mortal Kombat II decals on the front, sides, and light-up marquee. Raiden appears on both sides, raising his hand to create lightning. You don't actually need quarters to play it, but the cabinet does have a faux coin panel on the front to further add to its classic arcade look. It's not raised, though the design does give it that aesthetic. Other new cabinets that aren't in the Legacy Edition lineup, such as Killer Instinct, will have molded plastic faux coin doors. From Scorpion to Sub-Zero to Jax to Mileena, it’s time to perfect those finishing moves (and friendships…and babalities…) against opponents in-person right next to you OR remotely from their own Legacy game machine!
