About this deal

This later version of the FM2 is commonly referred to as the FM2n (for 'new'). The FM2N used an advanced Nikon-design, metal-bladed, bearing-mounted, vertical-travel focal plane shutter with a (then unheard-of) speed range of 1 to 1/4000th second plus Bulb, plus a fast flash X-sync of 1/250th second. You're really pushing it with the oldest AF cameras like the N2020, N6006 and N8008. You'll have no AF and confused exposure modes. Manual focus is fine, along with electronic focus indications. The Nikkor AF-S 14-24mm f/2.8G ED was introduced in 2007, and is quite simply a beautiful feat of optical engineering. It delivers images of outstanding sharpness thanks to its extra-low dispersion elements and the Nano Crystal Coating and Super Integrated Coating that have been added. It’s also weather-sealed, and the constant aperture of f/2.8 enables real creative freedom. Flash synchronization: Built-in ISO-type hot-shoe; threaded sync cord terminal provided for off-camera or multi-flash photography; synchronization with electronic flash units at speeds up to 1/250 sec. If I was working in nasty, dirty areas, I'd forget the cap, and use an uncoated 52mm Tiffen UV filter instead. Uncoated filters are much easier to clean, but more prone to ghosting, and the laminated Tiffens stay together in one piece even after they've been shattered.

The lens is much bigger and heavier compared to other Nikon 35mm lenses such as Nikon 35mm f/2D and Nikon 35mm f/1.4 AIS, making it the biggest and heaviest 35mm prime produced by Nikon to date. The Nikon 35mm f/1.4 feels very solid in hands and the focus ring is conveniently located in the front of the barrel, making it easy to manually focus with a thumb and index fingers while shooting images or video. The lens comes with the “HB-59” lens hood, which is a little bulkier than the “HB-51” that comes with the 24mm f/1.4G. It snaps on the front of the lens and sits tight without wobbling like some other Nikon lens hoods. No other specifications were changed and the FM2/T accepts all the same accessories. There's also been a couple of special limited editions of the camera; the Year of the Dog version of which only 300 units were produced, was released in 1994 and has a picture of a dog’s head engraved on the front place next to the FM2/T badge. As I have already pointed out, the lens is very light and compact. At just 305 grams, it is heavier than the Nikkor 50mm f/1.8G, but a bit lighter than the Nikkor 85mm f/1.8G. NIKON Df + 35mm f/1.8 @ 35mm, ISO 400, 1/80, f/5.6 Autofocus Performance and Accuracy One element is hybrid aspherical, which means a spherical glass element to which an aspherical plastic corrector film has been glued. It's not marked on the lens, although the serial number may help. The USA lens here has a serial number starting with a 2. The 35mm f/1.8 DX doesn't work well or at all on 35mm or FX cameras, but it does autofocus perfectly with every Nikon, especially the least expensive DX cameras.

Yes. Nikon F-mount lenses can be used with on Nikon mirrorless cameras, thanks to the FTZ or FTZ II mount adapters. In most cases, the adapter will also give you full functionality of autofocus and stabilisation.

Speaking of weather sealing, I have used the Nikon Z 35mm f/1.8 S in hot, sandy, freezing and rainy weather conditions during the past 8 months and I have not encountered any problems with its weather sealing. On one occasion, I let moderate rain fall directly on the lens that was attached to the Nikon Z6 and both the camera and the lens continued to function without any issues. Please keep in mind that while the lens is weather-resistant, it is not waterproof, so you should still avoid splashing water on the lens and subjecting it to extreme humidity. NIKON Z 7 + NIKKOR Z 35mm f/1.8 S @ 35mm, ISO 64, 5/1, f/11.0 Flash Ready-light: LED provided; visible inside viewfinder; lights up when an appropriate Nikon Speedlight Unit used is fully charged; blinks to warn that the shutter speed set is beyond the electronic flash's sync range

When the Praktica’s first electronic cameras were launched, they were priced higher than their Japanese equivalents. Today the reverse is true. Do not carry this lens with you if you're also carrying a zoom which covers 35mm. You'll be duplicating, meaning you'll be carrying too much. You don't need to cover every millimeter. See Assembling a System. Everything works perfectly on every DX digital Nikon, and especially on Nikon's cheapest digital D40, D40x and D60.There are lateral color fringes when used on the D40, which as a Gen 1 camera, can't correct for them. Produced in limited batches and the only top-quality 35mm film body produced by a major Japanese manufacturer. Falloff on FX and 35mm can be visible at f/1.8 and f/2, and gone by f/2.8. With cameras that offer vignette correction, falloff is only minor even at f/1.8. Just like other Nikon professional prime lenses, the new Nikon 35mm f/1.4 lens has a very high quality build. The outer barrel is made of plastic, but feels just like the expensive Nikon metal lenses, most likely due to the lens weight. It is designed to withstand tough weather and is well-protected on the outside against dust and moisture. I shot the lens in very dusty conditions in Utah with high winds and in one case ended up with plenty of dust and sand all over the lens during a hike through a sandy area of Arches National Park. It continued to function well without any problems. I wiped off the dust/sand with a regular brush and then thoroughly cleaned it with a wet piece of cloth after the hike, after which I used it for two more days without any mechanical or other failures. Used on recent digital cameras like the D90, D3100, D3200, D3300, D5000, D5100, D5200, D5300, D7000, D7100, D4, D4s, D600, D610, D800 and D800E, the distortion can be set to correct automatically in-camera! Be sure the latest firmware is loaded in your camera for it to recognize this new lens.
