About this deal

Each emollient in the range can be used individually, or together as part of a Complete Emollient Therapy regime.

Combines the actions of a humectant with the occlusive properties of Paraffin, to help lubricate and enhance the water capacity of the skin.Eczema is an inflammatory skin condition that causes dry skin, itchiness, rashes, blistering, and skin infections. Reactions have been observed occasionally when used excessively as a leave-on application in areas of folded skin such as the anogenital area. Recommendations for referral to secondary care, from the guidelines for management of atopic eczema from the Primary Care Dermatology Society and British Association of Dermatologists. An antimicrobial shower emollient for the management of dry and pruritic skin conditions, especially eczema and dermatitis.

The cap is designed to hold 10 ml of product and can be used to help measure out the required quantity to add to the bath (see Section 3). Ideally, a fragrance-free soap substitute should be used instead, despite the fact that this type of product does not foam or lather. Dermol 200 Shower Emollient is for direct application onto the skin and is suitable for use as a soap substitute. First, it replaces traditional soaps, shower gels and bubble baths, all of which contain detergents which can irritate dry or damaged skin. It contains no fragrances, colour or preservatives which may irritate particularly sensitive skins, and does not contain sodium lauryl sulphate.It contains a high concentration of urea, a component of the skin’s own Natural Moisturising Factor (NMF). Add approximately 15 to 20 ml (1½ to 2 capfuls) to a normal sized bath filled with water to a depth of roughly 20 cm (8 inches). Do not use this product if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to liquid paraffin, acetylated wool alcohols, or any of the other ingredients of Dermalo Bath Emollient listed in Section 6.It is a highly occlusive 3-in-1 emollient that can be used as an all-purpose emollient, bath additive and as an alternative to soap.

Patients with dry skin conditions have a deficiency of the natural oils which assist in the retention of moisture. The ingredients have been in widespread use in this and similar preparations for many years, without reports of problems. Fabric (clothing, bedding, dressings etc) that has been in contact with this product burns more easily and is a serious fire hazard. There are literature reports of chlorhexidine compounds inducing hypersensitivity, including anaphylactic shock.
