Crochet Collage Garden: 100 patterns for crochet flowers

Your couch never looked so colorful! 🧶🎨🌼 #CrochetLifeYou can have fun recreating the collages that Chris has designed or you can mix and match the motifs of your favourite plants and flowers to make your own creations. Create stunning crochet collages with this collection of 100 patterns for crochet flowers, plants and petals. The motif designs are inspired by the colours and shapes found in nature and, while some are recognisable as specific plant species, they are not intended to be botanically accurate representations of particular plants. Add more leaves as required along both sides of the main stem. If you vary the intervals between the leaves, it will give a more natural effect. Most of the stitches used for the flower motifs are basic crochet stitches so I think even a beginner would be able to have success with this book. Plus, each motif comes with a very clear stitch diagram that helps you see where to put each stitch and how the stitches cleverly create all the nature-inspired shapes. Chris recommends using yarn from your stash and I love that! Since each flower and leaf require a very small amount of yarn, it is easy to find colors that match the collage themes in the book – at least it was for me! 😉 Chris also shares many little tips along the way about how to work the stitches, change colors, weave in ends and put together the final collages. Layout and Colors of Crochet Collage Garden This collage is inspired by a sun dappled and shady corner of Chris’ garden. There are 10 different motifs included in this collage and include greenery like ivy and ferns, primroses, hellebores, lichen and toadstools. Spring Awakening

Woodland Glade

You can have fun recreating the collages that Chris has designed, or you can mix and match the motifs of your favourite plants and flowers to make your own creations. There are instructions for which yarn to use to create the motifs, but you can experiment with different types of yarn to create your own versions. As well as creating the beautiful crochet collages which could be mounted and framed, there are ideas for what to make from the crocheted motifs including decorative applique embellishments on clothes and homewares, as well as bookmarks and keyring charms. The collage themes include Woodland Glade, inspired by a sun-dappled, shady forest corner with ferns and snowdrops, the Vintage Blue Bouquet collage is inspired by the shapes and soft pastel colours of Lily-of-the-valley and Scabious, and the Flower Meadow collage evokes a prairie-style meadow with ornamental grasses interspersed with tall perennial flowers. Today I would like to share my thoughts and impressions on a beautiful new book by Chris Norrington called, “ Crochet Collage Garden.” I was so happy to have found it in the craft section of my local bookstore! I often sit and look through crochet books and magazines and work on a variety of crochet projects while I spend time amongst the books. The atmosphere of a bookstore is relaxing and peaceful. And, of course, I have fun perusing the crochet section! Thank you to Chris Norrington and her publisher, David and Charles Ltd., for giving permission to use these photos. 🙂 Using a contrasting colour of 4-ply cotton, work several French knots into the central area. 6 I've used…
