At first, I had thought NECA had made a mistake, until I realized that the stretchy belt that comes in the soft goods baggie is meant to hold the sheathes in place. Usagi shows up in season 3, so the Turtles’ concept of disguise has morphed into leather jackets and sunglasses for Usagi’s debut episode, a look I enjoyed seeing here. It has been a pretty incredible weekend for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fans, with a massive drop from multiple companies. It works well on the alternate flattened ears for a traveling look and I’m impressed at how crisp the black painted detail lines are on this accessory. Thi s deluxe box set includes four versions of the warrior with all new deco along with a wide variety of accessories inspired by the classic comic book series, all w ra p ped up in a collectible box with gold foil embellishments. They have a good amount of detail in the hilt and I like how there is a cutting edge sculpted in to the blade instead of just a flat sword.I personally really like the extra bit of detailed fur sculpting in these figures even though you don’t really see that level in detail on the show.

The elastic belt can tuck into the gap between his shirt and pants and is nearly invisible, which I think was a great solution. I always learned that when it comes to words ending in "o," you pluralize living things by adding "-es" (tomatoes, grottos) but you only add "-s" to non-living things (radios, Cheerios). Roll forward and I am now reliving that Youth with the action figures of today and am a collector and fan of the larger 6-8 inch figures from my favourite movie and TV licenses - including the ones mentioned above, but also the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Doctor Who, and the Aliens. Remarkably, I didn't have any problems with joints that were frozen or sealed shut with paint, which I think is a first for a NECA figure for me. The weapon holsters for other toys like Traag and Granitor have always seemed too fragile to me, so this was a good alternate design approach.

The pack will feature four distinct versions of the Rabbit Ronin with alternative hands, accessories, and weapons. His Playmates version was sculpted pretty accurately, but they gave his costume way more purple than it needed, and he had this perpetually angry scowl. I recommend grasping the up-pointing ears by the base, since mine came separated where the ears meet the base, and I had to glue them back together. Usagi Yojimbo is one of my favorite comics, I love his team-ups with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and the prototype looked so killer, making this guy my most anticipated figure of the year.
