About this deal

Whether you have a broken or missing IHD or simply want to upgrade your old one, ivie Bud is here for you. If I could change my gas meter (EDMI GS-60B) to change to a kWh display instead of cubic meters it might solve the problem. DCC and the NCSC won’t allow it for security reasons because Smart Meters are considered part of critical national infrastructure so you’d get stuck in 50 years of red tape.

The ivie Bud has been developed by Chameleon Technology - the trusted smart in-home display provider to 8 of the 10 largest energy providers in the UK. From heating and lighting to those always-on appliances, the ivie app makes it clear what’s eating up your energy so you can make smart decisions. We kindly request you to consider revising your review based on this resolution, as you mentioned you would make changes if either your energy supplier resolved the issue or if we provided a refund. The replacement was dispatched promptly upon your request, and the entire process did not take a full month. I’ve already heard too many horror stories about countries that equip electric meters with serial ports that caused electric shocks - and it quickly becomes obvious why optical ports are used instead for meters destined for the UK, especially in cases where the meter lives outside and weather is a factor.

Please enable weekly and monthly feature for both electric and gas separately instead of only daily readings for this. Earlier I wrote “ After one hour, I can’t praise this highly enough and hope my mind isn’t changed during the forthcoming hours, days and weeks. Unfortunately, we do not have the same level of access to your smart meters the same way your energy supplier does.An IHD isn’t the only way to see your energy use data and how much you’re spending: your online energy account will usually have granular information, and many firms provide an app where you can see theinformation. How long they last before they drop out again is anyones guess as is how long they take to rejoin properly…. Going through Smarthing android app, creating the chameleon account with the MPAN, and associating the Ivie bud made the association possible.

The ivie Bud can be reset and moved to a new property if you relocate, while supplier-provided IHDs can only be paired with smart meters they were initially installed to. First and foremost, it's essential to mention that problems with In-Home Displays (IHDs) like the ivie Bud are often rooted in issues with the underlying smart meter rather than the display itself. Well, probably because the NCSC is a thing in the UK and not elsewhere so the other countries that allow this don’t have the expertise that the UK has. The ivie app breaks down your energy usage by activity and works out easy ways you can cut down and save money. Actually, it’s much safer to run Smart Meters using a private network infrastructure that never touches the public internet.

Users are given a clear direction on what steps they can take next in each area through personalised energy-savings tips and challenges based on their energy usage. The ivie app helps you find ways to save energy and money at home with personalised tips and reports. It is not our intention to shift the blame towards your energy supplier, but we are simply providing an explanation as to how the smart metering network works. Regrettably, it appears that we have been unable to establish a connection between your smart meter(s) and the ivie Bud, resulting in the display's inability to access your smart meter data.

The app shows live data so it’s enabled me to go from room to room unplugging things and see the drops in live usage to see my power hungry appliances, based on that I’ve replaced my old chest freezer that was really power hungry with a new very efficient one. Arguably, getting something for totally free will get a true MoneySaver's heart pumping faster than any cardio workout ever could. Originally planned for a theatrical release by Sony (with the much-worse title Connected), the studio sold this off to Netflix during the pandemic…and probably regretted that decision. inch (5th Generation) Wi-Fi + Cellular, iPad (9th Generation), iPad (9th Generation) Wi-Fi + Cellular, iPad mini (6th Generation), iPad mini (6th Generation) Wi-Fi + Cellular, iPad Air (5th generation), iPad Air (5th generation) Wi-Fi + Cellular, iPad Pro 11-inch (4th generation), iPad Pro 11-inch (4th generation) Wi-Fi + Cellular, iPad Pro 12.But I agree that for marketing, it’s better to have a production already packaged to sell to more people. What you are after is an in home display, and yes, unfortunately BG are correct - the displays are a gimmick, and only supplied with the initial installation. However, it appears that the information being sent from your smart metering system is incomplete, which is why you were not receiving the expected data on the ivie Bud. It doesn't have all the bells and whistles of a full IHD but it tells you how much you've spent that day and since the last bill which is all I really need. Provided your smartmeter is compatible, it connects via your wireless broadband and gives you all the information you could need for gas and electricity : current consumption, the day's consumption to date, the week's consumption, the year's consumption, and you can set a budget figure based on your recent bills and then see whether you are doing your utmost to save on your bills.
