This is the last Paper Mario game in which they wear shades. On the field map, Koopa Paratroopa's movement pattern differs depending on its color, as green ones jump around, while red ones fly in the air in straight lines, horizontally as well as vertically, much like in Super Mario Bros.. Paratroopas appear in Chapter 1-2, 2-1, and Room 11 in the Flipside Pit of 100 Trials. Paratroopas reappear as enemies and retain their behavior from Super Mario Bros.. Paratroopas are more common, and some levels feature more Paratroopas than Koopa Troopas or Goombas. Paratroopas are found frequently during several platforming sections but can be defeated in the same ways. Just as before, the green ones hop around while the red ones float around. In these instances, however, green Koopa Paratroopas are recolored gray due to palette limitations. In this game, green Koopa Paratroopas first appear in World 1-1, being one of the first enemies encountered, and red Koopa Paratroopas first appear in World 1-3. World 7-3 is the only level in which green Paratroopas can fly whereas the other green Paratroopas only hop. Some levels require Mario or Luigi to jump off Koopa Paratroopas in midair to travel across pits that they cannot otherwise go across. It was decided to continue with the show. Dustin Gee and Les Dennis were the act that had to follow Cooper and performed in the limited space in front of the curtains. Two stools were positioned either side of the protrusion from behind the curtain where Cooper had collapsed, whilst efforts were being made to revive him. The following act, Howard Keel, performed as Cooper was moved (evident by the twitching of the curtains as he sang and the disappearance of the protrusion as he finished performing). After another commercial break, the curtain was removed, and paramedics had moved his body to Westminster Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival. His death was not officially reported until the next morning, although the incident was the leading item on the news programme that followed the show.Shriek Mansion 3-1 • Shriek Mansion 3-2 • Shriek Mansion 3-3 • Shriek Mansion 3-4 • Shriek Mansion 3-5 • Shriek Mansion 3-6 • Shriek Mansion 3-7 • Shriek Mansion 3-8 • Shriek Mansion 3-9 Paratroopas return as enemies, acting largely the same as before. They are first encountered in Yoshi's Island 3. Just like before, a Paratroopa can be stomped on to have it lose its wings, but Yoshi can stomp a Paratroopa to defeat it instantly. Alternatively, Mario or Luigi can also Spin Jump onto a Paratroopa to defeat it instantly. If Caped Mario or Caped Luigi spins their cape onto a Koopa Paratroopa, it falls into its shell.
