In spite of these gripes, this is a great option if you're after some serious airflow in your pain cave. The Cardio54 moves a LOT of air, and when you've got the position dialled in it does an excellent job of cooling you down. The fan betrays it’s workman-like roots. You can position it horizontally, or vertically or at 45° but the 45° option feels just about right. Initial impressions suggest it shifts air at a decent rate but my review will all have to wait a week while I try it out. Having ridden my gravel bike Monday evening it’s quite possible I will be riding Zwift more than once this week, as my ribs are still quite uncomfortable from Bike Park Wales. The Vacmaster Cardio54 is a great fan to use with your indoor trainer. It pushes a lot of air and is more effective at keeping you cool than most other options. A few tweaks to the design would make it even more effective, though.

The high power setting is fairly loud, but not in a vibratey-through-the-floorboards kind of way. It’s rare that I need this setting though – low power is fine for most of my training sessions (if we can call them that). I only use the 45 degree setting. I can’t see how the vertical angle could give you any blow without fouling the pedals. The flat to the floor setting is great… if you want really cool pedal cleats (I suppose you could put it on a shelf or some other support).
