Patten, Dominic (October 7, 2016). "Starz Renews 'Ash Vs. Evil Dead' For Third Season – NY Comic-Con". Deadline . Retrieved October 8, 2016. The next location was an isolated dirt road. Sam felt that a high, wide shot would be best. We weren’t versed in the etiquette of location shooting, so no effort was made to get permission of any kind. We just hopped the fence and set up the camera. Things were going pretty well, until Josh spotted a large bull glaring at the crew. The book offers insights into the world of independent filmmaking and the life of a “B” actor, but most importantly it succeeds as an evocative memoir that allows the reader to know Campbell.” Chalk, Andy (June 1, 2015). "Bruce Campbell to Star in New Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare DLC". PC Gamer . Retrieved May 24, 2018. Thanks to Bruce's dramatic reading and witty prose, this is one of the all time best listens I've ever gotten from audible.com.

Mottram, James (April 13, 2023). " ' Evil Dead Rise ': inside the year's scariest horror film". NME . Retrieved April 13, 2023. Lee Cronin: "Bruce came over to Ireland when we were working on the sound and I asked him if he would do this teeny, tiny, little cameo for me. And the fun part is, that's not necessarily Bruce Campbell playing someone else – that could very well be Ash Williams." a b Andrews, Tim (March 15, 2021). Radio Labyrinth Presents - Interviews - Bruce Campbell. Radio Laberynth Podcast– via YouTube.

Wake, Matt (October 22, 2020). "Bruce Campbell talks 'Evil Dead,' 'Spider-Man,' 'Xena' ". AL.com . Retrieved October 22, 2020. Since I knew that it was going to be reissued, I also had a look at the story being told and decided to condense, move, or clarify some chapters, all or in part. I also tried to add a hint of historical context, since it has been a decade and a half since Chins first came out. Mr. Campbell takes us through his life to date with a clear, unselfconscious writing style that has a conversational tone. He doesn't seem to be keen on hamming it up in his book or embellishing it with the flair he puts in his films. Writing per se is apparently not his first passion, but there is a sense of honesty and a self-deprecating humor that shines through. The behind-the-scenes look at the moviemaking process and the world of working actors was a treat for me, though, and since Bruce so obviously enjoyed telling it, I enjoyed reading it.

The New York Times bestselling raucous and sardonic memoir from Bruce Campbell, a follow-up to the New York Times bestselling If Chins Could Kill, now with all new material To keep up with the times, I've digitized Chins. It was originally published in hardcover/analog fifteen years ago, which is a vast amount of time in the evolution of books and technology, and it was time to get current. He is also known for his supporting role as the recurring character Autolycus ("King of Thieves") on both Hercules: The Legendary Journeys and Xena: Warrior Princess, which reunited him with producer Rob Tapert. [24] Campbell played Hercules/ Xena series producer Tapert in two episodes of Hercules set in the present. [25] He directed a number of episodes of Hercules and Xena, including the Hercules series finale. [26] This novel is more of a tongue-in-cheek biography of Campbell's life than a confessional "tell all" about Hollywood. While Campbell does mention 2 or 3 tidbits about some well known actors in Hollywood, don't expect a "tell-all" book filled with gossip. The second thing this book is not, is a "how-to" guide for beginning actors. Campbell provides some pointers and suggestions for new actors, as well as tips that have helped him, but they are mainly given in context with his experience in the industry. If Chins Could Kill: Confessions of a B Movie Acto r is my first book, and I invite you to ride with me through the choppy waters of blue collar Hollywood.Campbell's next book Make Love! The Bruce Campbell Way was published on May 26, 2005. The book's plot involves him (depicted in a comical way) as the main character struggling to make it into the world of A-list movies. [44] He later recorded an audio play adaptation of Make Love with fellow Michigan actors, including longtime collaborator Ted Raimi. This radio drama was released by the independent label Rykodisc and spans 6 discs with a 6-hour running time. Fast forward almost twenty years, and I'm telling my kids about the book. One of them said, "You should see if there's an audiobook--I bet he reads it himself." And there is. And he does. So I listened to it this time, and was charmed all over again. Campbell occasionally drops in comments about what's changed since he wrote the book; I can't remember when he did the audiobook, but I think it was 2014 or 2015, right in the middle of Burn Notice. So the comments are fairly up to date.

Weisbrot, Robert (2004). Hercules: The Legendary Journeys. Lanham, Maryland: Taylor Trade Publishing. pp.208–209. ISBN 1-58979-120-7. At any rate, I think this is my very favorite celebrity autobiography, because it's the story of someone who has a great career without ever quite reaching A-list status. Campbell has been involved in many different aspects of filmmaking and television, including directing, and his insider's take is refreshing as well as funny.

If Chins Could Kill

That’s a strong statement, so I’ll qualify it. I don’t mean that Bruce is better in Evil Dead 2 than De Nero is in Raging Bull. I mean that no film depends more on its star to achieve classic status than the Evil Dead films depend on BC and that no human being – De Nero, Robert Duval, Arnold or whoever else you want to name – could have been half as good
