About this deal

Now at that time I was about 14/15 and almost certain that I was going to marry Danny from Mcfly (I mean why not right? Perhaps this book might useful for someone who is experiencing mental ill-health for the first time, but it struck me as a celebrity money grab by stuffing some pretty well-worn and easily accessible tips into a book with a pretty cover.

My one lil gripe with this, however, was the "Happy Families" section, which I, personally, felt made the assumption that everyone comes from super-happy, loving families which is certainly (and unfortunately) not the case. The activity pages that have you relate it all to your own life felt awkwardly placed as they often cut off a sentence on the previous page, making you confused about how to read it. I have still given it 4 stars because I found the book the sort I would dip in and out of when needed as I find my depression and anxiety very up and down.I think Fearne is very brave for opening up about her depression: as such a public figure it opens her up to all kinds of judgment and scrutiny, but I think this book is going to help a lot of people. I’m going to put lots of the little tips into action and start simply by finding something I’m grateful for each day. Fearne is an ambassador for The Prince’s Trust and also a patron for Post Pals, Tyler’s Trust and Coppafeel!

It didn't necessarily tell me anything I didn't already know but I liked the presentation of the information, I like the design, the feel when you hold the book, the illustrations, choice of colours and general lay-out. With a very busy life and work life, I do find it hard sometimes to keep up with everything and even keep up with myself. It did address her mental health journey however not enough for me to read it because it spoke about her experience - the information was there more to set up her ideas. In this chat, Tom talks about feeling fewer physical symptoms of anxiety since his last chat with Fearne in 2019, as well as how music helps him feel emotions more deeply, and understand them with more clarity. Whether it's using your feet to stay active, your mouth to talk about your feelings or your shoulders to feel confident, this is a one-stop holistic guide to happiness from bestselling author, Fearne Cotton.

I was about halfway through the book thinking it was okay but not great, and I then decided to pick up a pen and go back through the book and fill it out properly – and it went from okay to brilliant. And with interviews throughout with a range of much-loved expert voices, including Tom Daley, Kimberley Wilson, Tom Fletcher, Joe Wicks, Marcia Sharp and many more, this book is packed with tons of practical tips for finding the joy in each and every day.

As a lifelong sufferer of severe anxiety I often find mental health books can be quite patronising and fake. Imposter syndrome is likely to affect all of us at some point in our life; Michelle Keegan still feels it every time she finishes an acting job. I can see how this would be useful for some people, and having a book like this written by a popular figure certainly brings it to the masses, but I felt like it lacked scientific information and regurgitated a watered down version of therapy. Fearne is currently back in her role as team captain on the 16th series of Celebrity Juice, a show that continues to be a ratings winner for ITV2.I'm a true introvert and never been one to run with the crowd so although I had vaguely heard of Fearne Cotton I don't follow social media or adhere to the cult of celebrity.

A real book for the eyes that looks great on a shelve or a table and such and for that I really enjoyed it but the content was a little smug? In this chat with Fearne, Michelle talks about her disciplined work ethic, as well as how she’s learnt to cope well with the amount of rejection in her industry. Thing is, though I sort of liked this book, it is because I have come through depression and out the other side that I can understand where the advice is coming from. but this doesn't help much for those who don't have a compatible device or those who might be visually impaired.Loved listening to Ferne reading the audiobook (particularly the guided mediation bit), but as others have said, the book constantly refers to an accompanying pdf.
