About this deal

Metallica was noted by the media for their excessive drinking habit while touring and earned the nickname "Alcoholica". These are rough and ragged, of course, especially in the higher frequencies, and have some sharp and flat notes but are a great listen, though they don’t replace any of the finalized versions for me. has what sounds like James Hetfield just making some sort of vocal noise to fill in for the vocal/lyrical line. It’s Master of Puppets that third, middle album, and their last with Burton, that some feel represents Metallica’s peak.

The driver claimed he hit a patch of black ice, but others believed he was either drunk or fell asleep at the wheel. During sound checks, the group played riffs from Osbourne's previous band Black Sabbath, which Osbourne perceived as mockery. All this extreme explosion and the power of music, gives a much louder sound and in the end you can think that it is also a bit compressed. What fans get instead are faithful, sturdy, and totally worthy performances of these tracks that give you a realistic representation of what Metallica sounded like live at this time. The compositions and arrangements benefited from bassist Cliff Burton's classical training and understanding of harmony. The "Allied and Specialty" pressings have more punchy sound but also and more noisy and this one has more natural sound with amazing atmosphere and depth. Ulrich’s voice crackling down the line to London from his home in San Francisco, trying to indicate the magnitude of the album they’d just made, is a joy to behold.

The 136 beats per minute mid-tempo riffing of the verses culminates in a descending chromatic riff in the chorus; it increases to a galloping 184 beats per minute for the middle section that climaxes in a distorted scream of "Lie! Fourth album …And Justice for All (1988) takes Metallica’s long, complex songwriting to its endpoint as they dealt with their grief—did they ever really deal with it? The album caught the attention of Elektra Records representative Michael Alago, who signed the group to an eight-album deal in the fall of 1984. The album debuted on March 29 at number 128 [44] and peaked at number 29 on the Billboard 200 chart. All in all, this is an excellent version of the album and i believe everyone can love more the album from here because the "Master of Puppets" mixing was very poorly and the music was very weak to come out from your speakers. I’m not sure about some of you, but I can only turn my volume so high when on the turntable before the woofers start fluctuating. According to Ulrich, the audiences in bigger cities were already familiar with Metallica's music, unlike in the smaller towns they've visited. I haven’t compared the individual tracks from the 3-CD package to the versions from the other concerts, so I can’t render an opinion on which versions are the best—that sort of thing can be highly subjective, anyway—but it’s possible Metallica choose what they think are the best or most significant versions of each song for the third CD. Master of Puppets is Metallica's first album not to feature songwriting contributions from former lead guitarist Dave Mustaine.
