About this deal

A high pressure grinding roll, often referred to as HPGRs or roller press, consists out of two rollers with the same dimensions, which are rotating against each other with the same circumferential speed. The special feeding of bulk material through a hopper leads to a material bed between the two rollers. The bearing units of one roller can move linearly and are pressed against the material bed by springs or hydraulic cylinders. The pressures in the material bed are greater than 50 MPa (7,000 PSI). In general they achieve 100 to 300 MPa. By this the material bed is compacted to a solid volume portion of more than 80%. McLaren D, Hunter F (2008). "New aspects of rotary querns in Scotland". Proc Soc Antiq Scot. 119: 106. ISSN 0081-1564. SAG is an acronym for semi-autogenous grinding. SAG mills are autogenous mills that also use grinding balls like a ball mill. A SAG mill is usually a primary or first stage grinder. SAG mills use a ball charge of 8 to 21%. [9] [10] The largest SAG mill is 42' (12.8m) in diameter, powered by a 28 MW (38,000 HP) motor. [11] A SAG mill with a 44' (13.4m) diameter and a power of 35 MW (47,000 HP) has been designed. [12] The early period, ranging from the Warring States period to the Western Han Dynasty, was characterized by concave pits as the main type of grinding teeth. The pits had various shapes, including rectangular, circular, triangular, and jujube seed-shaped, and were highly irregular and diverse. Two square-section iron boxes (arm fasteners) held the levers, which were secured by a wooden peg slid into the round-section hole running right through them.

In the Mediterranean, watermills, which depended on water supply, progressed especially when they had a complement to avoid the vagaries of the dry season. In this context, windmills undoubtedly contributed to the spread of watermills as early as the 11th century in regions such as Provence and the Greek islands. Neanderthal people were already using rudimentary tools to crush various substances, as attested by the presence of rudimentary grinders at the end of the Mousterian and millstones in the Châtelperronian. From the Aurignacian period onwards (around 38,000 years ago), Cro-Magnon man regularly used millstones, elongated grinders, and circular wheels. From the Gravettian period onwards (circa 29,000 years), this equipment became more diversified, with the appearance of new types of tools such as millstones and pestle grinders. a b Lynch, Alban J; Rowland, Chester A. Extreme pressure causes the particles inside of the compacted material bed to fracture into finer particles and also causes microfracturing at the grain size level. Compared to ball mills HPGRs achieve a 30 to 50% lower specific energy consumption, although they are not as common as ball mills since they are a newer technology.Old proven methods have created the history of the company “Osttiroler Getreidemühlen” (East Tyrolean grain mills): The heart of our stone mills is the millstone. The infinitely variable adjustment of the stones offers the choice of fineness of the flour (from the finest wholemeal flour up to very coarse). The casing is made from solid wood. With years of experience in the construction of stone mills at the “Osttiroler Getreidemühlen“ flour residues in the grinding chamber are avoided. A robust industrial motor (360W) provides a reliable and steady output. A similar type of intermediate crusher is the edge runner, which consists of a circular pan with two or more heavy wheels known as mullers rotating within it; material to be crushed is shoved underneath the wheels using attached plow blades. Have a read of my article here to get an idea of the differences between stone milled and roller milled flour, and the benefits of using stone ground flour for bread baking.
