About this deal

In the Last Chronicles, he's teamed up with Kastenessen and between them they've set all manner of cataclysmic events in motion. Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: She breaks the Law of Death to allow Lord Kevin Landwaster to be resurrected, which just made things worse. Far worse.

Believing that he is unconscious from his collision with the police car, and therefore experiencing a fantastical dream or delusion, Covenant refuses to accept the reality of the Land. Appalled and indignant at the expectations the people of the Land have for him as their new-found savior, he gives himself the title of "Unbeliever." Broken Bird: Though she herself is creepily oblivious to the fact, owing to aforementioned insanity.A race of humans who dwell on the Plains of Ra in the southeast of the Land, their culture revolves around the magical horses known as Ranyhyn.

After walking into the local town, he is hit by a police car and wakes in a strange alternate world where magic appears to be real and a strange creature threatens. After being confronted by a powerful being known as Lord Foul he is tasked with giving a message to the Lords of the land. As he journeys to the Lords he eventually learns that his white gold wedding ring gives him a wild magical power and makes him a powerful figure. Take a Third Option: How he resolves his dilemma about the Land's reality — he ends up deciding that it doesn't matter if the Land is real or not, because either way it represents something beautiful and worth preserving. Worm/Word/Weird. In the cosmology of the Land, the Earth's core consists of a coiled-up serpent called the "Worm of the World's End". When Covenant attempts to sever a branch of the One Tree by using the power of the white gold, he risks rousing the Worm (which is not fully asleep, but merely resting) and thus destroying the Earth. The Waynhim and Ur-viles believe in a principle of ethics or destiny called the "Weird". The Elohim have a concept which appears to do duty for both these beliefs: it is impossible to determine whether the sound used for this is "Worm", "Word" or "Weird", as it comes out in a blurred form sounding something like "Würd".Demonic Possession: Like his Ravers, Foul knows how to do this. Unlike them, while he exists primarily as spirit, Foul does have the ability to interact with the physical world on his own, so he rarely possesses people unless possessing that specific person gets him something he wants like possessing Joan to torment Covenant. He's also one of the various beings who can possess Anele and later Jeremiah, and for his final confrontation with Covenant in The Last Dark, he possesses Roger.
