About this deal

It is a dominant, attractive and brilliant fragrance - something that nowdays sugary fragrances should envy. Grojsman’s creation Lancôme Trésor shares a similar fuzziness, but I find Diamonds and Rubies to be much more comfortable to wear than Trésor. The first sniff out of the bottle I thought was nt wonderful, but the drydown won me over and I think this one is lovely . My sister did not like it at all, in fact, she doesn't really go for powdery scents and told me she does not like any of Elizabeth Taylor's offerings.

I really like diamonds and rubies, I agree with the reviewer comparing it with tresor, that is, mixing the original fragrance with tresor's peach notes and a bit of a powder note in it as well. I find it odd that it says on here first for main accords 'warm spicy' because for me it's predominantly floral.some of the lilly of the vally, cinnamon and cloves remains and, in combo with sandalwood (maybe even the dry and bitter almond wood of the opening), some balsam and incense, they form a particular accord. Passion is a great business woman's perfume, it has a depth that will be taken seriously, it wears at times like a 1980's/early 90's perfume statement.

This smells enough like Tresor that I was immediately transported in my mind back to high school when my mom wore it. As the scent develops I smell the dusty, orangey powder of Dana Navy; and in the heart I swear I detect a hint of the warm, almost root-beer spices of Tabu.I definitely get the ylang-ylang and sandalwood, and I think what dates this one in particular is the addition of sandalwood and strong florals.

Nahema isn’t really similar to Diamonds and Rubies (as I initially thought prior to doing a wrist to wrist comparison), it opens more smoky, more dusty rosey and feels more serious in a way. If this were a design related visual - this resonates with vintage damask red velveteen wallpaper or a beautiful red velvet formal evening gown --- or yes! I'm hoping that by hanging onto the EDT that one day it might mellow or at least I'll experience it differently.

With the cinnamon and roses, this is a fairly elegant perfume - (although I could see wearing this as your signature if you are someone who likes that type of vibe). To be fair, though, no one else seems to smell it on me, so it may actually literally be just my brain confusing what my nose is smelling. In fact I would make the argument (and y'all can debate this on the Forum Chats) that this might have a similar build as Chloe Narcisse. I imagine big hair, fancy, shinny dresses, a lot of sweet champagne in those lovely vintage coupe glasses. It seems that this perfume requires heat from the body to flourish fully, and the fabric of clothes will just carry the flat sweetness of it without any development.

A peat fire, candlelight, mulled wine, spice from pomanders of cloves and cinnamon, champagne and hot whiskey. Even if I didn't know this perfume was created by her, I would have recognised her unmistakable style.

I bought is because some relievers wrote that it's similar to Sun Moon Stars of Karl Lagerfeld but unfortunately it is far from it. The only reason why it's kind of disappointing for me is because I sampled this hoping it would be a rose dominant frag. While I have struggled liking the edt (all I smell is pepper; occasionally I will get some rose, never any peach) the parfum in the tiny little bow bottle is gorgeous.
