Jason Statham and Gal Gadot launch Wix.com's Super Bowl LI campaign". Ad Meter. 18 January 2017 . Retrieved 15 January 2018. So even though Statham had no acting experience or training, Richie cast him as Bacon, a central character who was attempting to make easy money to repay a huge gambling debt. 'Snatch' AskMen (1996–2012). "Jason Statham". AskMen. IGN Entertainment, Inc. Archived from the original on 20 July 2008 . Retrieved 18 August 2012.

The film has several subplots that really go nowhere such as a drug addicted policewoman, the grieving cop who lost his wife and the journalist who views the serial killer story as his big break. It really is filler to pad out the main plot. After Weiss is killed, Brant sets the dogs free on Dunlop to chase him for writing articles against him and the police for coverage. Let me tell you what Jason Statham is good at, so you get what I mean, he does the bad guy, with a heart, and great at action fighting scenes better than anyone today. What he is incapable of doing is good guy. The film was a co-production between the United Kingdom, Canada, and the United States. Principal photography took place in Seattle, Washington and Vancouver, British Columbia, [ citation needed] in locations including Simon Fraser University and the Burrard Street Bridge.Boaz Yakin's film is about a former New York detective who protects a young Chinese girl from the fore-mentioned ethnic groups because she has something both sides want and they will go to war over this. In 2003, Statham appeared in three British television commercials for the Kit Kat chocolate bar. Described as a "break philosopher", he philosophised about salmon swimming upstream, a Mexican fisherman, and the relative speeds and ages of animals, before ending with a reminder that "taking a break" (alluding to the Kit Kat slogan) is an important part of life. Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Jason Statham Will Definitely Have to Babyproof Their Immaculate House | Architectural Digest". Architectural Digest . Retrieved 9 January 2018. Aiden Gillen is very good as the deranged killer. He is obviously "not in his right mind" but Gillen's subtle performance and the breadth of emotions and he hints at keep him well clear of a pantomime "Psycho".

It's a film that deserves at best to be an itv feature, not a movie, in fact if they had made it that way it could have worked better. Don't get me wrong though I enjoyed the film. Aiden Gillen is a brilliant bad guy, giving his character a Johnny Rotten swagger. I felt myself enjoying hating the Blitz and couldn't wait to see him get his just deserts but we could have done with getting a little more insight into his behaviour. Statham does a good job showing a little weakness now and then in his usually gruff demeanour. As I have already said Paddy Considine is great but not in it enough for my liking. London looks great and there is an exciting chase through the streets which is one of the high points of the movie. The action is awesome, not ridiculous as FnF would be, it feels ls more realistic. Yes, it has some sorts of MaD Max elements for his modified cars, but it doesn't feel like that. Its action is unique. Let's be fair, it's a good movie BUT it's hardly memorable or spectacular in the long term. I think what the director thought was... "people like smart action movies, therefore i'll make mine smart". Well here's the difference you have action movies that don't look that smart but actually are. And this one looks smart but actually isn't. The problem with that is that it tries to outdo itself, especially the last thirty minutes... where the detective comes upon a different plot every ten minutes, so what we get then is a Usual Suspects kinda montage of every far fetched clue we overlooked only to be changed entirely ten minutes later up until a point were you stop caring.

In the comic book series Ultimate Spider-Man, that series' version of the villain Vulture was rendered by artist Mark Bagley to resemble actor Statham, as per writer Brian Michael Bendis' instructions. [80] One of Brant's informants, Radnor ( Ned Dennehy), points Brant and Nash towards a man named Barry Weiss ( Aidan Gillen) who recently bragged about setting a police dog on fire, "for practice". Although Brant and Nash visit Weiss' flat, they cannot immediately find any evidence against him. Brant recognises Weiss as the man he beat up in a fight in a billiard hall a year earlier. Unknown to either of them, Radnor decides to conduct an investigation of his own and eventually discovers the seemingly abandoned car where Weiss keeps the trophies of his kills, confirming that Weiss is the killer. The director/writer will have to explain to me how detectives take a mathematical theory seriously as a tool to outsmart cops. Again maybe the director wanted to be smart again, by namedropping it's plot by defining it with some fancy word. An article by Adam Gabbatt in The Guardian noted that Statham's character contributions to his industry and film niche are "tough [and] uncompromising". [76] [77] Some critics note his presence as a "defining feature" that signals to movie-goers the content of a film. [78] The same exposé commented, "You know what you're getting with a Jason Statham film. He will beat people up. He will crash cars. He will do an unconvincing American accent." [76]On Location: Bulgaria Shines in Grueling 'The Expendables 3' Shoot". TravelPulse . Retrieved 15 January 2018. a b Jones, Emma (3 May 2012). "Jason Statham: Billion dollar man". BBC News . Retrieved 9 January 2018. This is a reasonably brisk paced and entertaining action thriller. There's a similar story to Spike Lee's critical hit, Inside Man, only Chaos was made two years ago, and is as yet awaiting its release. This may give an indication to the fact the film is not really a bankable product. This is not down to quality, because this is by no means a bad film, it's just what you might call a marketing nightmare, as a theatrical release anyway. It's a "thinks it's cleverer than it is" thriller starring two martial arts stars, but without martial arts. In fact this isn't action all the way as you might expect with Jason Statham and Wesley Snipes as two of the headliners. Eventually this will find a release, but probably DTV.
