What a brilliant idea. I'm used to stitching and then putting my books together, but that is a job I usually put off. I love this book so much, it has made my stitching so enjoyable. Will you run this project again next year or do you have a video of this year’s that I could sew along with? Cross Stitch Collages - 250 Tiny Patterns and 20 Cool Projects / Debut Cross Stitch Book Alyssa Westhoek Release Date Nov 17th Dear Ann….thank you so much for your inspirations, patterns and tutorials….I’ve been stitching owls, boats and mushrooms..now I’m beginning a book * your tab method is brilliant. I’m on my way to contribute to Free Patterns. You are such a gift. Thank you I’m going to try and follow along but I have several other projects on the go so we’ll see how I do with time management. I am wondering how everyone gets organized? Do you go at it all at once and pre-set little kits of things to use or do you do one at a time and pull all the bits you think you’ll use out? I’m finding that part a little overwhelming.

Thank you for subscribing.

I love this fabric book too! It’s been fun so far. Getting organized has been challenging but I think I have it now. I am an embroiderer so there is a heavy influence on that in my book. In our next session, I'll b e introducing my group to the Tortoiseshell Japanese Stab Stitch pattern. I'll also be demonstrating how to make and attach decorative spine corners and traditional folded covers for the Stab Stitch books using very special Japanese papers. I used plant-fibre paper for this small Hemp Leaf notebook; whilst I love its colour and texture, I was less keen on its tendency to tear a little around the sewing stations. The title strip is Satogami paper that I tore by hand to augment the tactile feel of the book. Traditionally, the title strip in this position is placed no more than 3mm from the book's head and foredge. I used Chiyogami paper for the Noble binding on the right; it responded much better than the plant-fibre paper. Traditional Japanese surface pattern designs Gathering my fabrics and was wondering if the book can be 6×9 unfinished? I have a beautiful hand printed scrap I am loath to cut smaller. I need another project like a whole in the head but but hey I’m in ! Loved last years book soooo much Ann just couldn’t resist.

And which awl should you use? Japanese awls are beautifully forged, typically used with a hammer. If you don't have those, English awls are comfortable to use thanks to the curved wooden handle that fits beautifully in the palm of your hand. CalculationsI loved making my book in France. So I thought I’d join in this one. Might get the creative majority moving again.
