About this deal

As always, a personal note. This tequila reminded me a lot in aroma and flavour of popcorn. Yes, I said popcorn. A weird one I know, how can tequila taste like popcorn? I don't know. Maybe it’s the butteryness or something. Either way, that’s what I get!

G4 is made by Felipe Camarena, another member of the famous family, and is named for his sons who became the fourth generation to enter the business. G4 Blanco is deliciously smooth, with the vegetal flavours of the agave enhanced by hints of exotic spice, tingling on the tongue and coating your insides with a comforting warmth. The easiest way to smoke tequila is to pour it into a smoker. You can use a smoker that is specifically designed for smoking tequila, or you can use a regular smoker. If you use a regular smoker, you will need to add a few extra steps. First, you will need to create a smoking chamber out of aluminum foil. Then, you will need to place a pan of water in the smoker, and set the tequila on top of the pan. The water will create a humid environment, which will help to smoke the tequila. I kept the garnish a little tropical with the pineapple fronds, but it is a tequila summer drink, so I had to do a little something excessive. If you don’t have a pineapple a lime wheel with some tajin on it will work just fine. The liquid is filled into barrels, where it matures for a minimum of two months. The Tequila is then brought to the desired ABV using water that has been filtered through Mexican silver.

Mezcal not only pre-dates tequila, but all tequila is actually a form of mezcal (and not vice-versa). Like mezcal, tequila is made from the agave plant and double-distilled. Both liquors can also be aged after distillation for various periods of time, or not aged at all. Similarities notwithstanding, mezcal and tequila walk their own separate paths, something that becomes self-evident as soon as you compare the taste. Gently shake or swirl the tequila. Infuse the tequila with the smoke for 10 – 15 minutes (or longer for an even stronger smokey flavor). If needed, fill the bottle with smoke again. Serving this with some fresh bread or a toasted baguette for dipping is the way to go here to fully enjoy this dish. So, why citrus and tequila? Well, they are both strong in flavor and therefore won’t be drowned out by the bold flavors that inherently come with smoked burnt ends. The citric acid is really what helps cut through the fattiness in the pork belly. Along with that, the semi sweet, slightly earthy flavor of tequila really helps balance out the pork’s saltiness. Burnt Ends and BBQ Sauce

Mezcal has been trending around the world for years now. Why should people give your smoked tequila a chance? I think both are great products, but the difference is taste. Mezcal, as you probably know, is more smoky. If you like this taste, it is a great product. With tequila, you taste more pure agave. Our smoked tequila is a little bit more balanced from the two.Remove the glass jar with tequila and swirl it after the first 10 minutes, and return it to the smoke box (DIY cold smoker) for a further 5 minutes if needed. Fill the glass bottle or container with the smoke and immediately enclose it (with a lid) to trap the smoke inside. This could easily be a complete dinner, or served as a family style appetizer. How to make Smoked Tequila Lime Shrimp There are three ways in which you can make cold smoke for smoked tequila. A portable smoke gun – this is definitely the easiest way.

Pasote is another type of smoked tequila that is made by smoking the agave for a period of time that ranges from a few days to a few weeks. This gives the pasote a smoky flavor that is unique and delicious. The dream bite for me was a little shrimp, some of the tomatoes and veggies, and extra sauce all on a piece of baguette bread! As the iconic Islay malt, Lagavulin embodies the finest, pungent flavors native to the region,” says de Colsa. Yes, pungent — the Islay whiskies are decidedly bold and smoky. At this point, you might see how Lone River Ranch Water is the perfect fit for this Smoked Tequila Lime Burnt Ends recipe. I used their original seltzer, made with agave nectar and lime, along with some tequila and lime. Again, the sweet and citrus notes this adds to the burn ends is incredible. It brings a light freshness to the dish that would have been lost otherwise. Ahumado is what I would call a ‘democratic liquid’ in that it will appeal to a wide range of Tequila lovers. So, as I was already smoking Smoked Tequila Lime Shrimp, I also smoked the salsa veggies at the same time and temp on the smoker.
