You can also choose to not utilise the power assist at all and use your e-bike like a regular bicycle. The Swifty Liberte is different from the previous two models because it is a foldable bike, designed for road cycling and commuting. Swifty electric bikes can be considered entry/mid-level e-bikes and are therefore a lot more affordable than many of their competitors. But does that mean they are substandard? What’s Great: The price! You’d be hard pushed to find an electric bike for less that this, especially one with gears, a removable battery and a folding frame.

That said, i was thinking this could make an interesting project. In theory it ought to posible take the 0 - 5v signl from a throttle and convert it to the pulse signal expected from a pedelec senor. An Arduino could in theory do the conversion to a pulse where the timing was based on the speed required.
