About this deal

Considering it’s affordable price, this board is quite sturdy with clearly labeled buttons, knobs, and inputs. The top of the product is a capacitive mute sensor that allows you to easily mute the microphone. These easily turn the LED lights red to remind you of it. The front portion of the product features a single knob and it comes with a couple of LED indicators. One set encircles the knob which lets you view your set levels. The good news is that the market for audio mixers has grown tremendously in recent years, and streamers are spoiled for choice.

This is an excellent starting point before audio gets further condensed by YouTube or Twitch streams, or via Discord calls.

It’s the easiest mixer to set up in this entire list, and it may even feel basic compared to other XLR options. The Mini is like the “little brother” that provides the core functionality of the original, but at a lower price tag. With the Wave XLR, you can enhance your microphone without an external preamp. It has an ultra-low noise gain of up to 75dB, making dynamic microphones sound clear and loud. Plus, its 48V phantom power brings condenser microphones to life. Selectable Low-cut Filters It has a learning curve, however, once you figure out how it works, it’s pretty easy to use and integrate into OBS, XSplit, and other streaming software. Our Voicemeeter setup guide for splitting audio in OBS can help you out! The Bottom Line

With the Wave XLR, you won’t have to watch levels while you’re live, nor salvage distorted audio in post-production. The Clipguard technology reroutes audio via a second signal path that runs at a lower volume when input levels increase. As a result, it produces clean audio output and it doesn’t matter how loud you scream. Choose Your Style

6. GoXLR Mini (most similar to the GoXLR Pro)

The Elgato Wave Link software is the utility suite made for configuring Elgato products like the Wave XLR. It debuted last year when the company release the Wave:3 USB microphone. Both the original and the Mini feature the MIDAS preamps, which is basically a middle-man that controls volume between your mic, interface, and streaming PC. Like most of Elgato’s products, the Wave XLR is a sleek little device that doesn’t take up a whole lot of space.

The Levusu L5 is a great mixer for professional live broadcasts. It can simultaneously support up to two people, five devices, and five platforms. The Mini is compatible with GoXLR software, which can be used to independently route the mic, chat, music, game, system, console, and line-in. You’ll also find four across the bottom area which are present to indicate which controls are selected. Plus, it will allow you to see the 48V phantom power if it’s active or not. This works to power the condenser microphones. This was with around 40% gain from the preamp. And also, we noticed that it didn’t have any issues powering the microphones we’ve tried with it. Elgato Wave XLR Review Summary

High-quality audio capture at a budget price.

The product has an equivalent input noise of -130dBV @ 60dB gain. Speaking of its gain, it ranges from 0 to 75dB while phantom power is at 48 VDC 7mA. It’s a small product and it doesn’t feel like it’s there, but it is. Plus, you won’t see any wasted space on the Wave XLR which is good. Wave XLR has an innovative proprietary “Clipguard technology,” which detects when input levels on your mic peak out and audio might clip or distort. When peaks are detected, it reroutes the audio through a second lower-volume signal path that ensures a clean audio output. It’s genuinely impressive how fast the Wave XLR manages to catch and equalize the gain on loud input that would normally distort—so fast, in fact, that it’s literally imperceptible on the output. So whether its just getting excited, leaning in to your mic too close, a sudden cough or sneeze, or any other moments that may peak, clip, and distort your audio, Wave XLR’s Clipguard ensures that it simply never happens. Elgato Wave XLR Review – Beyond the Hardware The SoundBlaster K3+ is a popular mixer for Twitch streamers and one of the most recommended GoXLR alternatives. Having a dedicated audio interface for streaming games on YouTube, Twitch or any other online platform can significantly enhance the quality of your audio. With improved sound quality, increased volume control, reduced latency and more connectivity, a USB audio interface is a sound investment for any streamer looking to take their audio to the next level.
