The basic and most common additional rule for Doubles play is that where a Double exists at the end of any train, the Double must then be 'satisfied' (laid against) in the next turn, even if the Double is on another player's train that is not marked. All other available trains are ignored and if the player cannot play against the Double immediately or after drawing from the Boneyard, the player must place a marker on their train and play passes to the next player. This rule would not normally apply during the special first round of play. The player with the heaviest double lays down first. Doubles do not act as spinners, but are still played vertically. Every tile which features a given number is a member of the suit of that number. A single tile is a member of two suits: for example, 🀴 belongs both to the suit of threes and the suit of blanks, or 0 suit.
Placing dominoes and playing doubles
The first and most important thing you need to think about is how many dominoes you want in your set. Some people play a match by starting the first game with the Double 12, the second game with the Double 11 and thence on to the final 13th game of the match that starts with the Double blank domino.
Although dominoes may be relegated to the toy chest of children in most of the US and Europe, it is a favorite pastime in other regions, including parts of the Southern US and particularly in the Caribbean where locals play it passionately and competitively. Suits: Each individual number plus the blank is considered a suit. Therefore, in a Double -Six set of dominoes, there are 7 suits (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and blank). In the same way, a Double Nine set has 10 suits (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, and blank) and so forth.

The winning player scores zero; the other players score the total of the number of spots on the dominoes still left in their hands. For example, in Bergen, players score two points whenever they cause a configuration in which both open ends have the same value and three points if additionally one open end is formed by a double. [34] [35] In Muggins, players score by ensuring the total pip count of the open ends is a multiple of a certain number. In variants of Muggins, the line of play may branch due to spinners. In the common U.S. variant known as Fives players score by making the open ends a multiple of five. [36]
